What you’ll be doing...

You will be providing subject matter expertise, project management, planning, designing, engineering, and operational support primarily on the Subscriber Profile Controller (SPC) application, including migration of the current bare metal SPC to microservice-based platform in VCP.

  • Performing routine care and feeding (Linux/OpenStack/Application Deployment/Programming), as well as debugging techniques for the application and system.
  • Directing, overseeing and managing the monthly/quarterly planning/Ops review meetings to address capacity and demand growth on the systems.
  • Proactively seeking solutions to improve application performance & efficiency, and reduce time on repetitive tasks through automation.
  • Providing mentoring to other team members on multiple facets and leading application design reviews for application redundancy, geographic diversity, and database replication, while ensuring a robust network design.
  • Being the point person interacting with CDS security on CPI-810 and common vulnerability exploit mitigation (CVE) for the SPC.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in technology.
  • Certification in Linux, OpenStack, Database Admin, Cloud Security, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of scripting skills (e.g. Perl, Python, Ansible).
  • Experience with IMS and VoLTE application platforms and vendor management.
  • Experience supporting network Capital and Expense budgeting processes.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and leading large deployment projects.
  • Applied leadership skills and advanced working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DIAMETER, SIP, LDAP and load balancing, and how networking operates in an OpenStack cloud.
  • In-depth knowledge of design principals of OpenStack architecture and ability to white board and demonstrate how an application deployment to OpenStack could be facilitated with special attention on tools such as Ansible and Heat.
