What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be leading a team that manages the accounts receivable for VZ’s largest and most important customers.  This team will provide collections and overall a/r management as you partner with executives in Sales, Marketing and Legal.  This team will support Verizon’s Partner Solutions line of business.  Your team will be responsible for driving resolution to customer billing and a/r issues, including managing and negotiating settlements, as well as driving collections.  Your team’s mission will be to collect payment and settle a/r matters for Verizon’s Partner Solutions customers.  You will set strategic direction as it relates to policies, strategies and procedures, and will be responsible for the overall KPI's associated with your base of customers, and will handle second level escalations as they arise.  You will have two or more Supervisors and two or more Consultants or Sr Analysts reporting directly to you.  Your areas of responsibility will include:

  • Driving account collections
  • Negotiating complex dispute settlements
  • Setting challenging objectives for the team
  • Measuring performance against KPI’s and driving course correction as need to stay on plan or exceed
  • Communicating on customer issues and providing monthly executive reporting
  • Rapidly handling customer (internal and external) escalations
  • Managing projects and initiatives to improve collections or drive cost efficiencies, including Digital Finance
  • Developing strategies and leveraging analytics to drive productivity
  • Partnering with Sales, Marketing, Legal and Revenue Assurance and other critical groups to drive results
  • Maintaining constant focus of customer service and the overall customer experience
  • Ensuring your team conducts business in accordance with the Verizon Credo
  • Managing expenses to meet or exceed budget targets/objectives
  • Partnering with accounting and FP&A on development of customer credit issues and reserve requirements

What we’re looking for...

You will have exceptional leadership skills with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. You’ll understand interdepartmental processes and have excellent negotiation and communication skills to work with a variety of teams including Sales, FP&A, Accounting, Revenue Assurance, and Legal.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or six or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of experience managing large scale teams.
  • Six or more years of experience managing customer accounts from a collections perspective.
  • Knowledge in resource management functions and tools.
  • Product and contract knowledge across multiple lines of business.

Even better if you have:

  • MBA
  • CPA

Understanding of Telecommunications products including Wireline, Professional Services, Cloud-based services, and other strategic offerings.
