What you’ll be doing...

Verizon seeks an experienced manager of federal marketing to support the growing Federal segment. This marketing professional will develop, manage and execute marketing plans across Verizon’s federal civilian, defense and homeland security business. Marketing plans and activities will include message development, event planning and management, product launches, demand generation campaigns and thought leadership activities that build awareness, generate leads and deliver measurable results.

  • Develop, maintain and execute marketing plans and activities that support Verizon’s federal marketing and sales objectives.
  • Develop messaging and win themes for priority contracts and accounts. This includes, but is not limited to, messaging for key contracts, sales presentations, customer briefings, tradeshows, email marketing, advertisements and websites.
  • Work with Verizon’s agencies and media partners to develop campaigns, creative materials and thought-leading content.
  • Plan and manage Verizon’s participation in industry events, including sponsorships, booth logistics, event messaging, speaking engagements, event promotion, staffing and attendance.
  • Plan, write and execute targeted email marketing and social media campaigns that support Verizon’s federal marketing and sales objectives.
  • Track and report on marketing activities, including outbound campaigns, demand/lead generation, funnel generation, MQLs, SQLs, and marketing influenced opportunities.
  • Regularly present marketing updates to sales and marketing leadership and teams.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of marketing experience, including experience developing messages, demand generation campaigns, thought leadership content and collateral.
  • Six or more years of experience in the federal market.
  • Understanding of the federal marketplace and customer base.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree – preferably an MBA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or Journalism.
  • Proven as a self-starter with the confidence and experience to develop and execute plans and take ownership of marketing activities to get results.
  • Knowledge of federal telecommunications contracts.
  • Event management experience.
  • PMP Certification.
