What you’ll be doing...

You will be in Contract Services covering the entire Mid Atlantic South region for MD, DC, and VA. You'll manage a diverse team of 6+ employees responsible for monitoring construction activities performed by our vendor suppliers. The team is responsible for scheduling all contactor work and providing updates to our internal partners along with outside governing officials. The team also performs all major material ordering and double wood scheduling and tracking.

  • Managing CWI's (contract work inspectors) who monitor construction activities conducted by our master contractor.
  • Working with our master contractor to schedule and complete work requests on time.
  • Working with CWI's and Master Contractor to complete the billing process on time and according to contractual agreements.
  • Coordinating the construction and placement of Verizon facilities along with verification of completed work.
  • Collaborating with our Engineering and Operations teams on daily/weekly/monthly meetings.
  • Working with municipal authorities ensuring work is done to the proper specifications.
  • Ensuring all jobs are completed and closed out on contractor time sheets to comply with major material disbursement.
  • Ensuring all jobs are billed timely and accordingly based on budget codes and contractual language.
  • Promptly investigating and resolving customer complaints.
  • Conducting performance reviews and providing coaching as required.

You’re comfortable holding people accountable for their performance and their adherence to policy, and you’re able to inspire and engage diverse groups to do their best work.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in Outside Plant Construction.
  • Ability to manage remotely with employees positioned across three states.
  • Valid driver's license.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Word.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction prints.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
