What you’ll be doing...

Data Management of Technical Business Rule Definition and Development.

You will manage and supervise technical requirements for Oracle back-end, ETL and Business Intelligence to support data model layout, dimensional associations as well as business rule application. This complex data management role encompasses a wide variety of Global functions including but not limited to: Delivery (sales to revenue for all products), Assurance, Customer Care, ILEC/PTT, Finance (pipeline revenue, cost to serve) across all business units.

  • Work with IT and business teams to determine best approach for implementation of metric alignment across lines of business.
  • Sequencing of data for accurate business rule application.
  • Recommend coding modifications to ensure metrics and approach will provide desired result and optimal data processing efficiency.
  • Assessment of quantitative impacts to business rule changes and make decisions on restatement criteria for operational and executive key performance indicators.
  • Manage Global Operations Business Intelligence capital program of $1M+ including capital requirements and associated business benefit and ongoing monitoring.
  • Manage governance and communication of reporting changes for monthly release activity.

Reporting Development Requirements

Leverage business, system and operational process knowledge to drive automated reporting solutions and accurate metric performance management requirements:

  • Leverage knowledge of all legacy and Current Platform systems related to ordering, provisioning, repair and maintenance, call center and billing systems.
  • Utilize understanding used in detailed requirements discussions and technical requirements definitions and approach.
  • Work with data management analysts, business units and IT partners to discover, coordinate and define accurate universe and cross functional relationships.
  • Manage the development and adherence to technical action plans for specific projects or definable portions of larger projects or processes.
  • Work on projects ranging in complexity from executive level ad hoc analysis to integration of new data into complex reporting system.
  • Support strategic projects associated with business and system transformations.
  • Work directly with various Verizon business units (VES/VBM/VPS/Wireless/Network Operations) for aligned metric definition, labeling and reporting.
  • Provide resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems:
    • Analysis of data requires evaluation of various factors including impact to executive and operation performance metrics and strategic reporting architecture strategy.
    • Demonstrate good judgment in due diligence for optimal solutions.

Data and Reporting Governance – Metric Result Audit and Controls

Govern business rules and data alignment for Global enterprise for business areas supported:

  • Manage validation and authentication of reporting results through audit processes and activity transparency.
  • Ensure protocol exists that will capture, audit and alert for deviations and support for quick and timely resolution.
  • Coordinate technical reporting and business rule releases.
  • Document all database, business rule and metric changes to users, executives/management and power users.
  • Ensure metric naming conventions align with business partners and other executive reporting teams to confirm alignment and understanding.
  • Evaluate IT release activity to understand impacts to reporting for any required business rule modifications.

People Management

Responsible for managing individual contributors and managers across functional areas (Project Management, Assurance, Customer Care, Delivery) and includes management of the Global Assurance reporting team driving standardization, automation and integration of assurance reporting.

  • Management of employee work activity in Change Management tool.
  • Prioritization of work activity and workload balance across team.
  • Training, coaching and counseling employees.
  • Manage employee performance including setting performance objectives and ongoing performance assessment and feedback.
  • Recommend hiring and pay increases of workforce.
  • Identify and drive efficiencies across team including any future shared services integration activity.
  • Elimination of manual reporting activity across organization by driving Business Intelligence automation for increased self-service capability.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Master’s degree – ideally an MBA OR Advanced degree.
  • Broad range of knowledge across multiple functional areas across the quote to cash delivery process from the Buy phase through ordering/provisioning/installation and post order completion knowledge including repair and billing.
  • Product knowledge across all products including Network and Non Network products.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in data management/reporting, delivery and business intelligence.
