What you’ll be doing...

This candidate will oversee Incident and Problem Management duties within the Government Enterprise Network Operations Center (24/7) in Cary, NC providing network monitoring and support. The GENOC supports federal government customers with approximately 5K managed devices throughout the United States.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical support and assistance to federal government customer.
  • Proactively detecting anomalies and performance issues and bringing resolution to meet customer satisfaction.
  • Promoting a positive team environment among direct reports and peer managers across all functional areas.
  • Performing end-to-end trouble isolation and repair on physical and logical layer services, devising action plans for more complex issues.
  • Working with internal and external support teams as well as with the account and program management teams to facilitate fault isolation and repair efforts to meet established baseline objectives.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Willingness to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of transmission principles and at least 1-3 years of IP networking experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to process complex data and develop conclusions for management, business partners, and customers.
  • Strong Leadership/administrative skills (multi-tasking, planning, and organizing).
  • LAN/WAN networking experience.
  • Ethernet Circuit knowledge.
  • Wireless (3G/4G) knowledge.
  • Knowledge of one of the following technologies (Cisco, Juniper, IP Telephony, Data Transport)
  • ITIL v3 Foundation certification.
  • CCENT or CCNA certification.
