What you’ll be doing...

As the Manager of Sales Content, you will be responsible for taking sales content on verizonwireless.com to the next level by directing sales content strategy and the production process of sales content. The process includes directing the work of copywriters to write new product description pages and content articles about products. It also includes directing information architects to map out how content will interlink and knit together throughout the site. You will have a very close working relationship with the manager of Search Engine Optimization. The position will be accountable for both sales and SEO traffic KPIs. The successful candidate will be numbers-driven, which means using organic search traffic, conversion rate, and engagement numbers supplied by the Analytics team to evaluate previous sales content and decide what future sales content should be. In addition, the candidate will have ecommerce experience and be dedicated to a best-in-class customer experience.

  • Ensuring all new products are posted to the site with engaging descriptions that not only compel purchase but draw in traffic via organic search.
  • Partnering with Analytics staff to uncover insights from all types of sales content data, focusing on KPI effectiveness. Ensuring coverage of all data points, including organic search traffic, organic search page position, keyword rankings, PDP conversion rate, time-on-page, time-on-site, and depth of page penetration. Working independently to evaluate the analyses and insights for opportunities to optimize internal traffic flow.
  • Working independently to create strategies for acting on sales content opportunities. Ensuring use of industry-established best practices for ecommerce, SEO, and information architecture.
  • Directing copywriters in writing long-form product articles and product description pages.
  • Partnering with information architects and SEO team to interlink and knit together content throughout the site.
  • Owning and driving the overall production process for sales content.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Ecommerce experience.
  • SEO experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A master's degree.
  • Five or more years of Internet / Web experience with focus on ecommerce content.
  • Experience driving increasing results for product description pages.
  • Experience working with technical engineers to effectively communicate the technical challenges and fulfill the business needs.
  • Ability to work with business partners and experience with relationship management.
  • Strong experience with content management systems, including uploading content to a CMS in both a desktop and mobile environment.
  • Exposure to online report builders such as Adobe Analytics and ability to build and pull reports.
  • Demonstrated previous successes in ecommerce sales content, content marketing, SEO, and information architecture.
