What you’ll be doing...

The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to facilitate and develop integrated processes, procedures, program tracking, and workflows based upon business and stakeholder goals and requirements. Additional responsibilities would include, but not limited to, program& project management, process mapping, procedural documentation, creation and maintenance of project processes and procedures, reporting and presentation to management and key stakeholders. The Program Manager will work as an extension of the Cyber Risk Programs Team and will be responsible for driving process development on key customer projects.

The Program Manager is a position with the Verizon Cyber Risk Programs Team. This team incorporates security analysts and program managers. The methodologies, essential practices, and risk intelligence used by the team have been proven in the industry since early 2000. The mission of the Cyber Risk Program Team is to provide exceptional delivery of security assessments and analytics in order to provide planned, measureable and practical corrective actions. In addition, create and maintain a culture of partnership and collaboration to ensure that our customers can respond confidently and appropriately to the rapidly evolving security landscape.

Role responsibilities:

  • Understands how to quantify risk using threat likelihood, implementation state, and business impact variables and then how to prioritize risk initiatives based on business need, compliance requirements, and/or risk reduction.
  • Analyze discovery scan data and vulnerability data to determine unusual use configurations, discovery of aged software, patch validation, and proper identification of high-severity vulnerabilities.
  • Identify and remove false positive findings and/or downgrade certain vulnerabilities based on Verizon Risk Intelligence.
  • Understands the necessity to provide an independent assessment of security controls implemented across the customer’s environment in comparison to industry standards and synergistic risk reduction.
  • Conducting assessments to examine the relationship between people, processes, and technology, and their effects on information confidentiality, integrity and availability.
  • Bridge the communication gap between business units by simplifying the complexities of information security.
  • Will partner with the customers on key IT and Security projects.
  • Understands the changing nature of the threat landscape and therefore understands the necessity of being able to adapt and respond appropriately to changing requirements and objectives.
  • Seeks to provide leadership and vision across key risk initiatives.
  • Translate information security policies and requirements into actionable operational processes and technology solutions.
  • Simplify the complexities of information security with situational awareness, enhanced methodologies, and people.

The client may request the following:

  • Weekly status calls to discuss process and procedure development and/or changes, as well as overall project status.
  • Management reporting on key security initiatives and presentation to executive stakeholders.
  • Detailed Procedural and Process Plans (frequency is based on client demand). These plans may be part of or incorporated into the customer’s Process and Procedure Management life cycle. The Program Manager may be identified as a mandatory contributor to the PPM life cycle and be required to present relevant changes and/or correction for management approval.
  • Development and documentation of detailed use cases to support current and/or future process and procedures.
  • Program Manager acts as a contact on specific initiatives to facilitate workshops and participation from appropriate internal stakeholders and groups.
  • Program Manager works closely with technical stakeholders to identify and analyze vulnerability workflows and document risk, issues, and remediation.
  • Research and recommendations on tools, methodologies, and processes to address a specified customer security gap and/or objective.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in program or project management, and/or IT or network security, for the development and maintenance of processes and procedures, on large and complex projects
  • Experience in Process Mapping and Project Tracking.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with IT security and patch programs.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with integrating security and data source platforms.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with multiple OS.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and focus groups.
  • Experience developing project requirements from business goals and drivers.
  • Experience developing procedural documentation and presentations.
  • Experience with MS Office and MS Visio.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • A Degree.
  • Analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and analyze IT and/or business processes and workflows.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Project Management tools.
  • Training/certifications in Quality Management (ITIL, Six Sigma, TQM, etc) preferred.
  • Training/certifications in Network Security (CISSP, PMP, Security+, SANS, ISACA, Vendor Certificates preferred.
  • Industry Certifications (CISM, CISA, CCNA, MCSE, HISP, GSEC) preferred.
  • Fortune 500 and/or Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual.
  • Ability to work on overlapping, complex projects.
  • Good business/stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Good experience with presenting to stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and work within pre-determined timelines.
