What you’ll be doing...

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot the wireless voice/data network architectures relating to system performance impairments in roaming, transport, hardware & software faults, translations, and voice/data elements.

  • Possess knowledge of LTE networks and 1X to 5G technologies.

  • Correlate customer complaints from customer technical support with various network elements to resolve service impacting conditions; driving troubles to resolution by engaging internal and external resources; providing accurate and timely documentation of actions.

  • Identify efficiencies to reduce cycle time in resolving customer troubles, and interface with vendors and various engineering teams to ensure that defects in software or hardware are corrected at the point of manufacture.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex voice/data call flows and knowledge of call routing translations and dialing plans.

  • Work with external and internal Verizon organizations coordinating and troubleshooting network events.

  • Perform triage, fault isolation, and remediation of network events.

  • Lead others through network management.

  • Generate, drive, and update problem-tracking tickets via multiple systems and continually improve business practices.

  • Provide timely and accurate network information to both management and other groups during network events and major outages.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent discipline.

  • Scripting with Python, Unix or equivalent languages.

  • Experience driving automation initiatives.

  • Knowledge of Cloud and Virtualized solutions (OpenStack/VMWare).

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
