What you’ll be doing...

You will lead teams of Managed Service Project Engineers (PE) supporting MACD and CMDB activities of a multi-customer Managed Service Center and System Operational (SYSOPS) staff supporting various HW/SW and applications in direct support of Federal Government customers. You will also have responsibility for a Network Tier 2 Operations Team accountable for escalated incident and change management activities within the customer deployed network.

  • Have ownership of continuous review, identification, development, and implementation of improvements into the environment to increase efficiency, quality, and speed of delivered services.
  • Communicate and translate functional/operational goals into team/individual objectives, and manage the implementation of policies & procedures.
  • Carry out, inspect and validate management administration tasks, such as time management and productivity measurement, personnel development, etc.
  • Manage directly and proactively a team of highly technical, distributed Engineers.
  • Provide support/review and escalation for direct team.
  • Monitor, optimize and report on resource and workforce management.
  • Collaborate with Service Delivery, Program Management, Network Operation Centers, Account Team and various internal and external delivery and support teams to manage the Service Assurance function.
  • Manage business expenses and revenue to ensure profitability.
  • Ensure protection of customer proprietary network information and Verizon information assets.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in a telecommunications or technology company.
  • Knowledge of communications products and networking technologies.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a government issued security clearance or active security clearance.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Knowledge of business processes (such as ITIL, Project Management) and the impact thereof on the technical environment.
  • Ability to understand technical issue escalations.
  • Skills to perform complex work for a functional area and general knowledge of other areas within the organization.
  • Ability to think independently using and applying principles, theories, concepts and technologies.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities through experience in leading teams or projects to successfully achieve measurable results.
