What you’ll be doing...

We are constantly innovating to unleash the power of our network and technology and you can ensure that we stay at the forefront, providing an unequaled customer experience. You’ll lead a team that works with internal partners across all lines of business to architect, design, and deliver the evolution of the Verizon Cloud Platform (VCP). VCP is currently an Openstack-based Platform, and you will be driving the transformation of VCP towards following two dimensions:

  • WebScale: Introduction of CNCF-based Cloud-native infrastructure supporting Kubernetes-based CaaS and a relevant set of PaaS services to host 5GC Network Functions.
  • Far Edge: Highly Distributed but Centrally managed Cloud infrastructure for deployment at Centralized RAN Hubs and Cell Sites to host Virtualized RAN and support MEC services.

You will be working at the forefront of technology driving the transformation of Verizon’s Infrastructure to a modern Cloud Platform leveraging Software-based Automation, with Robust Visibility, Error Detection and Auto-Recovery, while supporting the large Scale to support Verizon Network’s customer-facing services at an efficient cost-point.

You will work with Network Operations, Maintenance Engineering and IT teams to ensure the resulting platform and the NFV applications running on it can be effectively automated and orchestrated to increase Verizon’s agility and speed of deployment. Your role will involve strategy development and implementation, including the creation of team roadmaps to ensure platform projects deliver on-time and on-budget. As a subject matter expert, you’ll build strong cross functional relationships and work to ensure all projects are aligned with business objectives.

  • Building Partnerships: Partnering with business partners, suppliers and industry forums to outline a roadmap for VCP and maintaining product-technology alignment for all aspects of the platform initiative.
  • Product Management: Creating and driving the strategy and roadmaps including business case preparation and ongoing financial analysis.
  • Vendor Management: Managing vendors, including features & roadmap
  • Architecture Lead: Developing and managing the architecture, design and deployment of the VCP platform and associated services.
  • Updating and maintaining key KPI’s and dashboard reporting for working team, executive and senior executive use on an ongoing basis.
  • Communicating with executive leadership regarding program status and setting clear direction concerning process, standards, and roles/responsibilities for all project teams.

Business Communication: You’re an experienced leader who is adept at negotiating and communicating with leaders and executives at all levels of the organization.

Leadership: Leading large, highly technical teams and inspiring people to perform at their best is personally rewarding to you. Manage a distributed team, including remote/offshore employees and contractors.

Problem Solving and Creative Thinking: People know you for your ability to analyze issues and solve complex problems with innovative solutions. This helps you to work well with partners from non-technical functions and build strong cross-functional relationships.

Thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you manage competing priorities with ease, and never lose your laser-sharp focus on meeting tight deadlines.
