What you’ll be doing...

You will be supporting all aspects of building and data center facility infrastructure for one of Verizon's critical enterprise data centers. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee 6 contract building engineers
  • Mechanical and electrical system Operations, maintenance and repairs
  • Operating Facility emergency power generation plant
  • Building automation systems and Data Center Infrastructure Management operations
  • Power Monitoring and analyzing deficits or failures
  • Compliance related to data center operations, physical security, and insurance
  • Energy audits and best practice initiatives
  • Physical security
  • Vendor management and escorting
  • Planning and oversight for mechanical and electrical infrastructure upgrade/refresh projects
  • General building maintenance
  • Troubleshooting alarms and failures with mechanical/electrical infrastructure (including solar arrays)
  • Establishing electrical and cooling requirements for hardware placed on the raised floor
  • Must be able to cover any shift and provide on call coverage as required

What we’re looking for...

Familiar with all aspects of Critical Facilities Management. Must be able to analyze problems with limited or no supervision and select and implement the appropriate solution. Must be able to work independently, or as part of a team; take responsibility managing the department and ensure the completion of projects and assignments. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage and prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining availability and uptime. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and can quickly build relationships with a diverse range of people to explain complex technical issues in a manner that everyone can understand.

You’ll need to have:

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working with critical facilities principles and procedures.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical field.
  • Experience with Change Management, process documentation and vendor management.
  • Experience with automated Building Management Systems.
