What you’ll be doing...

You’ll work side-by-side with Verizon’s customer, business partners and internal project teams (Sales, Marketing, Software Development, etc.) to elicit, analyze, specify, validate, and manage the business, user, functional and non-functional requirements in support of general solution and Customer-specific system enhancements.

You’ll also work closely with internal business and software development team members. The key to the position is the ability to solicit requirements and create system rule specifications documentation so that the software development team can write user stories (in a test-driven, agile software development methodology environment) that are fit-for-purpose. You will help resolve cross-functional issues.

  • Work closely with customers to understand the business domain, analyze, define, validate, document system requirements
  • Understanding of Verizon’s network and call flows
  • Assist in the analysis and development of complex solutions
  • Work collaboratively & efficiently with the customer, team members and other groups/teams in gathering, defining and documenting new system requirements
  • Support efforts related to the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information, including compliance initiatives to protect customer information.
  • Communicate the business value/impact of technical solutions to identified problems to technical team members as well as management and other stakeholders lacking a technical background.
  • Manage the customer’s expectations and align the development team to provide cost-effective solutions

What we’re looking for...

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications understanding call flows and processing.
  • Agile Project Management skills.
  • Experience facilitating the development and documentation of use cases
  • Requirements Gathering
  • Ability to present and explain project specific information to diverse types of audiences
  • Ability to define and document business and functional requirements (rule specifications), business process maps ("As-Is/To be") flows, and diagrams
  • Ability to research, classify, and prioritize business, user and functional requirements
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Visio, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Strong interpersonal skills at all levels of management and excellent teamwork skills
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong consulting skills
  • Strong customer focus and management of client expectations; ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence in the group
  • Good decision-making skills
