What you’ll be doing...

This role will perform the duties of a telecom billing analyst to a large retail customer. The Telecom Expense Management Specialist will work closely with circuit provisioning team and act as a liaison to the customer and internal groups. Will reach out to various telecom vendor POC’s to work through various billing issues when required. Review costs and services to identify customer savings opportunities.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Process telecom invoices on monthly basis on timely basis ensuring accuracy and proper documentation maintained within Remedy enterprise system.
  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness and content of financial data. Analyze financial data and provide trending and recommendations.
  • Complete monthly Rolling Operational Forecast (ROF), Closing, month-end accruals, and other financial matters for assigned retail divisions. Act as an extension of the customer’s organization, aligning goals and reporting on results. Ensure customer satisfaction by balancing customer expectations with contractual requirements.
  • Perform accurate and prompt processing of all financials related to telecommunications charges.
  • Perform Telecom invoice processing, including payment of Telecom invoices, validation of charges against customer requirements and reconciliation based on contractual rates and inventory.
  • Perform submission of Payables files to the customer.
  • Research invoice issues, perform action items, process adjustments and customer communications.
  • Provide Monthly ROF and variance explanations, including current and out months for the current fiscal year as well as analysis and variance explanations for changes from the previous period.
  • Perform Month End Closing, including accrual and journal entry processing , uploads, budget and ROF variance explanations for each general ledger account.
  • Prepare annual budgets (Spring and Fall), revising as new information becomes available.
  • Analyze variances from previous budget submissions.
  • Use data to create reports to ensure team efficiency and to meet needs.
  • Work through action items for inquires, billing disputes and carrier related issues.
  • Review and update billing documentation as required.
  • Improve team processes and documentation.
  • Participate in special projects, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Ability to quickly respond and adapt to additional work requirements and changes in workflow.
  • Ensure data integrity.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications technologies and provisioning.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Strong financial and accounting experience including forecasting and budgeting.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively document financial analysis both with detail and summation.
  • Excellent customer care skills.
  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment, working across multiple levels of management (internal, external, vendor).
  • Knowledge of enterprise level financial/accounting systems.
  • Experience working in Excel.
