What you’ll be doing...

In this role, you will have operational responsibility for the layer 3 configuration of VES Managed PIP, VOIP, On Demand and Vendor operations which includes 24X7 support of VES Customers and International teams as well. You will:

  • Support the activation of layer 3 services for new managed customer networks.
  • Provide M&Ps for our offshore tier 1 and tier 2 teams to be used for job process training, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Incorporate DE direction, PE order requirements, and MNSO standards.
  • Ensure M&Ps remain up to date as new products are introduced, and existing products are updated.
  • Provide external customer configuration escalation support, working with Project Management, Engineering, and Service Assurance teams as required.
  • Assist with problem resolution when offshore teams require help to deliver timely and accurate technical solutions.
  • Provide CPE staging groups with configuration requirements for new CPE models and technologies.
  • Configure PE/Gateway routers using Verizon tools SNM/IPSM and direct access to the router as needed.
  • Provide oversight for teams working to assist customers with CE router setup and activation as scheduled, or as customer calls are received on team ACD.
  • QA and update Verizon databases post activation to ensure maintenance organizations have all that is needed to support customers on-going.
  • Assist with after-hours activation as required by management.
  • Assist Product Marketing, Business Operations, and IT groups when assigned by management as they work to design new products and tools, and improve existing products and tools.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Network support/troubleshooting experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of network support/troubleshooting experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • CCNA certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Experience in circuit testing, MPLS, IPVPN, IPv4, IPv6.
