What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Fraud Reporting, Analytics, and Data organization is looking for a highly skilled Business Intelligence Manager. The Fraud RAD team is responsible for creating in depth analyses as well as supporting recurring reporting requests for senior leadership with a primary focus on wireless and wireline fraud activity and risks for Fraud strategy and operations. This team also supports multiple functions across the organization to enable fraud analytics and intelligence.

The business intelligence manager will support our organization by defining and delivering business intelligence solutions for use for Fraud Strategy, Fraud Operations, Compliance, Corporate Security, and others. Key responsibilities include: providing recommendations and solutions for improving risk detection and mitigation, pinpointing operational and process efficiency opportunities, providing ad hoc and recurring reporting as required, and ensuring data security protocols are strictly adhered to.

Examples of tasks this job function would complete:

  • Lead team of 3 Senior Analysts in various BI delivery platforms.
  • Work with team to reduce manual recurring reporting and increase analytic and story crafting ability.
  • Assist in the crafting of business cases and success metrics and provide quantification of savings and costs for business partners.
  • Lead conversations with various requesters to gather reporting requirements requiring communication with multiple levels of leadership and across many functional departments across Verizon.
  • Ensure data integrity and security across all data requests through validation processes and thorough understanding of data sharing limitations.
  • Serve as delegate for Senior Manager in meetings with up to VP exposure.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Intelligence, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or related field, or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Cognos or Tableau.
  • One or more years of people leadership experience.
  • Project management experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, financial background and attention to detail.
  • Two or more years of experience in a data mining role with strong quantitative and analytical skills and a proven track record of turning large amounts of multi-faceted data into meaningful information.
  • Experience developing and writing reporting requirements for creation of reporting solutions, such as fact tables, cubes or dashboards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration.
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
  • Proven track record in people leadership, conflict resolution, and mentoring/training.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint for data manipulation and report creation.
