What you’ll be doing...

  • Serves as functional lead for integration of federal, local and state leave processes. This includes identification/design/implementation of leave templates/on-line leave map, and communications.
  • Design, deliver and manage absence web content and manages updates to absence policy and guidelines.
  • Develops requirements, tests, and supportslaunch of absence system improvements.
  • Develops and delivers communications to aid in change management for absence initiatives and new laws.
  • Aids in the successful completion of projects to promote and implement absence reduction initiatives which enable Verizon to achieve attendance targets and increase shareholder value.
  • Reviews data and performs root cause analysis of key drivers/controllable factors that contribute to absence and identifies absence training needs.
  • Delivers absence analytics: generates reports, compiles and analyzes absence data, and packages information to meet client requirements.
  • Supports HR Business Partners and field clients by providing information regarding absence policies, processes and systems.
  • Executes attendance training strategies, initiatives and tools.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert on absence initiatives, including bargained for programs.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Three years of progressive HR assignments.
  • Solid understanding of the ADA, FMLA, and a working knowledge of other local, state and federal employment laws, particularly those relating to time off or wages.
  • Broad understanding of the organization’s business strategy, processes and procedures.
  • Ability to independently analyze data in order to identify trends and issues andformulate proposed action items.
  • Ability to present data in a manner that is readily digestible by various stakeholders.
  • Ability to independently take on stakeholder initiatives and execute on a project plan.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • High proficiency in Peoplesoft and Cognos/ HR reporting, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to facilitate collaborative solutions to complex multi-disciplinary problems.
