What you’ll be doing...

The Human Resources Manager reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for the Consumer Group. Your role is to nurture, develop, and grow your clients within a Verizon Wireless start-up company. You will be a crucial partner on the start-up’s Senior Leadership Team.

Using your human resources expertise and solid knowledge of the business (don’t worry—that will come with time), you’ll help guide your clients through all people-related matters as they navigate challenges and embrace opportunities. You’ll also help your clients be better leaders by supporting them in coaching, developing, providing feedback, and managing performance. You will play a key role in creating a work environment where everyone can work together and grow together.

  • Building all Human Resource initiatives for a first year internal start-up within Verizon.
  • Coaching, guiding, advising and counseling your clients.
  • Creating and driving force behind the culture of your client organization.
  • Spearheading programs that promote recognition, development, and retention of key talent.
  • Creating performance management strategies to develop talent within the organization.
  • Supporting business leaders to coach, give feedback, and manage performance effectively.
  • Offering expert advice on ethics, compliance, and employee relations issues.
  • Providing guidance on human resources policies and procedures.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience creating and driving an organizational culture.
  • A creative approach to finding and developing HR solutions.
  • Worked in a fast-paced, consultative environment.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience working in HR centers of excellence including Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Business Partnering, Benefits, Organizational Development and/or Organizational Effectiveness.
  • Experience supporting a start-up or small business environment from an HR perspective.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current technologies.
  • Strong consulting skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated influence skills with key stakeholders through relationships, expertise and data.
  • The ability to quickly establish and maintain rapport with people of diverse backgrounds and professional levels.
