What you’ll be doing...

This position requires senior level management decision making and interacting with vendors to keep up with latest products and releases. The person will operate independently; evaluate solution for feasibility and performance, Infrastructure and EMS architecture, and an implementation plan. This role will provide an overall roadmap for new as well as existing EMS’s that includes upgrades and decommissioning plans. The individual will drive modern architecture and orchestration solutions to drive automation, agility, efficiency and high availability. The person must drive requirements that support Verizon CPI-810 guidelines and other security requirements. The person must be able to calculate cost and schedule for a set of requirements with accuracy.

As EMS/OSS planner is responsible for strategy and planning for applications roadmap, and life cycle. Interacts with vendors, and VZ stake holders on strategic product releases. Drives vendors EMS /OSS modernization in alignment with VZ direction. Responsible for managing capital and expense funding to support projects as well as submit new request for following year, via business case cycle. Provides cost calculations of project plan and schedule for a set of requirements.

Develop EMS solutions with internal and external partners. Drives and monitors program integration based on the architectural solution provided from inception to completion. Stages include:

  • Gathering requirement from users/admins/architects.
  • Communicate requirements/propose solution.
  • Partner with the Vendor, Development teams to determine solutions to current problems.
  • Design test strategies with test team and deploy.
  • Responsible for redefining architecture solution for on-going maintenance and enhancement cycles.
  • Represent team in RFP.
  • Project management as applicable during implementation.
  • Coordinate problem solutions across organization boundaries; meet with vendor and VZ partners.
  • Present solution for approval/concurrence to executive management.
  • Present budget/capital/expense funding requests and expenditure allocation.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have :

  • A degree.
  • Ten or moreyears of related experience in network systems operations. Five or more years ofexperience in architecture.
  • Extensive knowledge of Verizon network, EMS applications and functions within the network.
  • Experience in working in collaboration with Network Planning, Engineering and Technology teams.
  • Knowledge of software development, architecture, devops, agile, AWS, and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of CPI-810 requirements and Verizon security policies and procedure.
  • Ten or more yearsof Network Systems Operations, five or more yearsof Architecture.
  • Effective communication skills.
