The Verizon Retail Experience Team is a new internal group tasked with evolving the Verizon customer experience across all channels and touch points through the design and implementation of innovative products and services that customers love. The team is assembling the brightest designers, design strategists, researchers, and product managers to collaborate within teams shaping the most important touch points across the customer journey.

You’ll ensure that all is running smoothly with the team leaders in the group. You’ll be answering calls, greeting guests, planning travel, scheduling appointments, and essentially taking care of the day-to-day. You’ll pull together reports and presentations, or you might plan an event or an office move. Your role is critical to creating an environment where everyone can do their best work. You’re motivated by being an integral part of the team, doing your part to enable others to do their job well. You enjoy a fast-paced environment and working towards tight deadlines. You will begin the role supporting the two Directors currently within the Retail Experience team. They focus on implementing 5G and the intersection of the digital and retail channels - you’ll be helping to support the next big things for Verizon. As of April 1, our organization will shift into the new Verizon Consumer Group and our scope will expand beyond Retail to Distribution Strategy, Home Experience, Voice of Customer, Business Development and Competitive Intelligence, and Experience Innovation. Your role will shift and expand along with us as you will support this larger leadership team and help us to hit the ground running as we bring Verizon 2.0 to life.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide office/administrative support for the integrated team
    • Schedule and arrange meetings and appointments across multiple executive calendars.
    • Answer calls, greet visitors, respond to inquiries - ascertain who can be redirected to subordinate managers or other offices and/or bring urgent issues for action to supervisors’ attention.
    • Manage the provisioning of supplies, equipment, and services that enable the staff to perform their jobs effectively.
    • Arrange travel and accommodation as needed.
    • Process departmental expenses and have limited budget oversight.
  • Under limited supervision, coordinate, assist with, and ensure office efficiency for our department through high-level administrative support that often requires the exercise of discretion, judgment, and negotiation
    • Proactively seek out ways to increase efficiency and streamline ways of working.
    • Collaborate with the VP’s EA and Portfolio Operations Manager to uncover ways to make us all work better.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, proposals, and correspondence
    • Compile weekly executive scorecards and agenda calling out critical items such as jeopardy issues and project movement.
    • Assist team on project administration as needed.
    • Apply superior attention to detail on the content, formatting, and layout of all.
  • Lead and/or participate in short-term projects that are relatively small in scope.
    • Conduct research to bring new learning to the team.
    • Oversee small scale projects to identify latest trends.
    • Explore learning and development opportunities for the team.
  • Shepherd the development of our team
    • Onboard new team members.
    • Coordinate office moves to ensure all technological and other needs are met.
    • Determine and communicate timelines and activities to individuals involved in moves.
    • Develop processes for maintaining departmental records and train other administrative personnel on procedures.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in similar role supporting executives, project management experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite skills.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines across multiple teams and projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work well independently and under pressure.
  • Willingness to work primarily out of the Basking Ridge, New Jersey office with potential travel to the 140 West St., New York office as needed.
