What you’ll be doing...

As a Unified Transport (UT) Program Management Office Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall program management of the Core Transport Network Build of the Next Generation ROADM (NGM) & Ultra Long Haul (ULH) programs supporting Verizon Wireline & Wireless. These Intelligent Edge (iEN) UT builds relate to the strategic programs: 5G, Verizon Business Internet, Multi-Service Edge, Circuit Emulation, and Migrations to new platforms to modernize the network and decommission legacy network elements. You will drive overall programs to achieve targeted and scorecard measured business goals and objectives working alongside both wireline and wireless stakeholders.

  • Lead the program management for the key strategic business initiatives, including deployment of new network technology and the adoption of new inventory and provisioning systems.
  • Support Regional Engineering teams by resolving global implementation issues preventing the progress of UT builds (i.e. material, tools, technology, etc.).
  • Provide key analysis and KPI reporting to stakeholders (Engineering, Network Planning, Operations, IT, Supply Chain, etc.).
  • Manage volume views (Commitment and Revised Commitment) for One Network common assets and shared hub sites, providing schedule oversight and reporting.
  • Project management and resolution of systems and process issues.
  • Partner with stakeholders to resolve issues to ensure the network is designed according to the Network Planning architecture plan and that the builds are completed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate prioritization of work requests with engineering teams and compile responses to director and executive inquiries.
  • Perform data analysis and prepare reports and presentations for program stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team to present recommendations on enhancements to increase efficiency.
  • Ensure program delays are addressed and appropriately escalated for resolution.
  • Develop collaborative working relationships across the Verizon family of companies and affiliates to foster a productive and successful program implementation. Actively seek partnerships to drive innovation, process improvement and interval reduction.
  • Input to projects as a client representative with Information Technology (IT) to develop tools via the SAFe agile project development process.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingess to travel upto approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Engineering or any other relevant field.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Certification or experience in Lean Six Sigma.
  • Four or more years of project management experience, preferably leading Wireline Telecom tactical projects.
  • Proven record for managing multiple simultaneous projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience in presentation skills, including ability to create and deliver presentations using MS Power Point.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.
