What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Manager, Network Business Development, is responsible for managing a geographically dispersed team of Business Development Managers in the Western territory. The Sr. Mgr. is tasked with driving significant momentum within their targeted One Fiber City Engagements. The Senior Manager will develop value propositions, understand political and competitive landscapes, align the internal Verizon teams, develop relationships with key city contacts and drive favorable contractual agreements and streamlined customer processes that deliver speed and efficiency while reducing costs in each account. The Senior Manager will often lead City meetings, working with Verizon teams to make sure invested Verizon groups are aligned with the messaging, value proposition and strategy. The Sr. Mgr. will insuretheir team is actively engaged, collaborative and proactive in providing accurate updates, tracking and reporting on build progress to internal Verizon teams involved.

  • Align & Strategize with 1F Build Plans and drive Business Development activities.
  • Develop city specific strategy and responsibility for value proposition decks.
  • Drive collaboration with internal VZ organizations and owning deals to drive wins.
  • Create executive level, technical, and value proposition presentations.
  • Proactively collaborate with State & Government Affairs teams and Wireless/Wireline Networks and Legal teams.
  • Drive positive customer experience with the sales teams.
  • Proactively get cities ready for Open for Sale opportunities in 2019.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in Sales and Business Development.


Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, or Engineering .

  • Twelve or more years of experience in Sales & Business Development with eight or more years of experience in complex solutions delivery and experience selling to State & Local Government.

  • Experience in managing delivery of complex solutions involving IoT/M2M, Optical Networking, fiber, Wi-Fi, small cells, and Professional Services.

  • Strong technology sales & marketing and analytical skills.

  • Prior experience delivering complex IoT solutions and market expertise in assigned vertical.

  • Financial management skills needed for forecasting, pricing, and margin analysis.

  • Professional presentation and communication skills to address all levels of the municipalities to include senior executives, Mayors, City Managers, and other City officials both staff and elected.
