What you’ll be doing...

How would you like the challenge of keeping us competitive? Use your program design and vendor management expertise to continuously enhance our competitive health and welfare programs.

  • Assure corporate compliance with laws and regulations governing employer-sponsored health and insurance benefit plans such as ERISA, HIPAA, Affordable Care Act (ACA), etc. Review state and federal laws pertaining to Verizon’s benefits plans, analyze impact of any changes, and provide recommendations to Verizon leadership. Related responsibilities include:
    • ACA Employer Shared Responsibility activities
    • Various required notices to retiree populations (such as Medicare notices)
    • Verizon’s HIPAA workforce compliance with training, documentation and notices
    • Health Care ordinances in various geographies (such as San Francisco, Mass) and the associated reporting
    • Annual non-discrimination testing
    • 5500 audits and filings
  • Manage aspects of U.S. domestic employee benefits programs which include: medical, dental, vision, prescription drug benefits.
  • Manage plan documents and SPDs, including updates and distribution.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationships with key suppliers and outside consultants.
  • Evaluate the financial performance of the health plans and identify key cost drivers using data analytics and leveraging our data warehouse.
  • Assist with development of benefit plan design and strategy.
  • Manage implementation of vendor changes and/or plan design changes.
  • Assist with the evaluation and selection of new vendors, including leading and/or participating in RFP processes.
  • Manage preparation for Annual Enrollment and the ongoing process from a plan design / plan management perspective.
  • Manage special projects including impacts on benefits resulting from acquisitions, divestitures, legislation, etc.
  • Oversee invoice allocation, reconciliation and payments process. Bring innovative ideas to management to streamline and automate internal operations.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need tohave:

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.

• Minimum of six years of relevant experience.

• Experience with Human Resources and/or Benefits Management.

Even better if you have:

• Strong excel skills required

• Exceptional financial and analytical abilities, accuracy, and attention to detail are required

• Experience with collectively bargained benefits.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Includes experience creating Sr. Leaders presentations
