What you’ll be doing...

  • Manage, lead, train and develop a team of engineers responsible for the Service Performance of the Voice and Data networks including new technologies.
  • Be the technical RAN lead for HQ service performance activity for all Infra-RAN vendors as it relates to feature review of current and upcoming releases for 5G and 4G.
  • Be responsible for the quality performance during FOA for new software and features and for KPI creation/targets for all voice and data services. Evaluate and optimize new vendor software loads and features as well as revise previous efforts to align to changes in network.
  • Be responsible for creation of GPLs, software updates and features for all Infra-RAN vendors during ad post FOA.
  • Develop and support Data Analytics practices, included but not limited to algorithm development, data processing and illustration to drive action and efficiencies, database management, and automation within the organization.
  • Support 5G-NR software and feature deployment as well as assist in local performance optimization practices.
  • Collaborate with SON teams for inclusion of best optimization practices into SON for national deployment.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Engineering to provide market configuration for FOA, review of validation test plans and test results, test feature interactions with legacy devices and determine feature readiness/worthiness for GA.
  • Ensure the LTE and 5G Network maintains and improves its performance superiority and reliability by leading the team to ensure prompt trouble identification and resolution and establish performance standards and tracking for the RAN Network.
  • Interact with Device Technology, Network Planning and RAN vendors to provide feedback on feature definitions, RAN and device roadmap.
  • Collaborate with Device Performance Team, Territories and Market System Performance on device issues and performance optimization trials.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical field or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • A solid understanding of RF engineering concepts and principles.
  • Solid experience in Radio Access Network including LTE, VOLTE, and CDMA.
  • Working knowledge of 5G NR.
  • Knowledge of standards (3GPP), Device Requirements, RAN OEM feature details, and RAN field test experience.
  • Skilled proficiency in using tools (QXDM, DMAT, etc.), network performance tools (LPT, NCWS, PCMD, etc.), and communicate through network advisory, network directive, and power point/pdf best practice or field training material.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Capability to interact, present and communicate technical information at all organization levels, from entry level engineers to Fellow and all members of the management team including senior executives. Communicating, verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner; applying appropriate grammar; listening attentively; presenting ideas in a logical, compelling manner in both small and large group settings; adjusting to meet the needs of the reader or listener.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills. High level of accountability, ownership and sense of urgency.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability thrive in a dynamic environment and demonstrate performance stability by maintaining performance level.
  • The ability to manage a team of diverse engineers of varying backgrounds who are often working remotely in other offices or in the field.
