What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be supervising a team of accountants to make sure that information relating to cash receipts, expense accruals and other activities is accurate. Your role is critical in managing our accounting systems and the financial health of our business today and in the future.

  • Supervising your team in reconciling both general ledger accounts and sub ledger systems.
  • Ensuring the proper research and timely resolution of variances by working with appropriate internal and external parties.
  • Reviewing and approving all journal entries and interfaces completed by your team.
  • Assisting with the implementation and accounting of various business initiatives.
  • Leading, motivating and training your team to be effective in their roles.

Responsible for supervising and working directly with a team of employees managing Verizon Wireless rebate incentive programs for large corporate customers as well as billing and accounts receivables for tower subleasing. Utilizing information extracted from Verizon Wireless' data warehouse, the rebate team uses tools such as SQL, Teradata, MS Excel and MS access to calculate large corporate customer incentives on both a regular scheduled and ad-hoc basis. This team processes over $100M in incentive payments annually and is responsible for billing and collections for over $140M in revenue annually.

The successful candidate will lead this team of Analysts while applying their own analytical expertise to assist with resolving complex data issues across thousands of data elements ensuring the proper data is utilized. The Supervisor will work closely with Sales, Legal, Contract Administration, Finance, and Accounting to ensure rebate payments, subleasing, and miscellaneous billing are processed accurately and timely with proper accruals established. In addition, the Supervisor will be responsible to assist with reviewing and approving new rebate contract language for supportability and providing analysis on revenue trends while recommending new rebate structures that are both supportable and simplify the experience for both Verizon and the customer while driving new revenue.

The Supervisor is responsible for being the subject matter expert for corporate rebate
calculations and ensuring contractual requirements are both accurate and timely. The Supervisor will lead the team to resolve complex issues relating to rebate payments and disputes ranging from thousands of dollars up to $10M.

You’ll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience performing account reconciliations.
  • Experience in the payment industry.
