What you’ll be doing...

You will develop innovative, cutting edge diversity and inclusion initiatives to foster a workplace at Verizon that is diverse, inclusive and inspiring.Utilizing your deep expertise in diversity and inclusion as well as your strategic vision, you will drive a deeper understanding, knowledge, and skills of diversity and inclusion concepts through robust education and compelling content to accelerate our progress globally. As a practitioner with strong relationship building and execution skills, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to conceptualize and manage these strategic business initiatives.You will be the catalyst to enable the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion by strengthening the pipeline of diverse leadership talent and creating an inclusive culture where differences are optimized.

  • Lead the agile design, development, and implementation of learning programs for our global leader and employee population to ensure we are building a diverse inclusive and inspiring workplace with new ways of working.
  • Build out fresh, relevant, modern enterprise diversity and inclusion educational programs leveraging technology to create a workplace that optimizes differences for innovation in the consumer and business organizations and fosters a pipeline of diverse talent.
  • Influence, educate, lead and build D&I capability in key stakeholders including the human resources, communications, marketing, public policy and other V Team groups/members in operationalizing diversity and inclusion initiatives for enterprise wide implementation.
  • Lead and educate various D&I Councils and stakeholder groups.
  • Coach and provide group and individual reports of the Intercultural Development Inventory and corresponding development plans.
  • Ensuring team incorporates all aspects of diversity and inclusion education including communication programs, train-the-trainer sessions and course set up on Verizon Learning platform.
  • Ensure the team leverages the capabilities of Verizon’s new executive training center, The Ridge, to ensure world-class learner experiences in the context of capability development, collaboration and networking.
  • Lead and oversee the design of training measurement plans, ensuring completion of thorough course evaluation and achievement of objectives.
  • Conduct benchmarking and research to identify best-in-class approaches to diversity and inclusion initiatives and identify potential new programs and vendor partners.
  • Ensure team is identifying best-in-class external partners for training content and delivery; developing quality statements of work and all other associated work.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with curriculum design and course development of diversity and inclusion education.
  • Experience with evaluating training programs.
  • Experience with on-site training facility strategy and program management.
  • Experience with designing or coordinating e-learning and virtual training.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, or an MBA.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Talent management or human resources experience or D&I certification.
  • Experience with the Intercultural Development Inventory.
  • Experience with learning design and delivery of diversity and inclusion concepts.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Experience with vendor selection and management.
  • Project management skills working with cross-functional teams, SMEs, and stakeholders to create learning opportunities.
