What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for the advanced installation, operation, and maintenance of the regional data network elements, ensuring network integrity and quality. These networks include, but are not limited to Nortel IOS Switch components, Oracle servers, Cisco routers and switches, Nokia AirScale LTE products.

  • Troubleshoots, upgrades, and administers multiple vendor systems.
  • Technically leads during troubleshooting events.
  • Installs, operates, administers, and performs advanced maintenance of the regional data network elements.
  • Maintains systems, elements, and platform applications.
  • Updates daily logs with site-specific information.
  • Composes clear and concise reports for system documentation.
  • Participates in cross-functional projects as scheduled.
  • Provides support to a varied user community.
  • Works a rotating over-night shift with a rotating 24/7 on-call
  • Provides project support to an area spanning nearly 4,200 sites

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to respond to emergency call-outs within 30 minutes while on call either remotely or by physically travelling to the MSC.
  • Knowledge of data networking protocols including TCP/IP, OSI, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, BFD, SIP and other LAN/WAN protocols.
  • Knowledge of data transmission facilities such as 1G and 10G native Ethernet, and SONET.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any technical discipline.
  • Special electronics training.
  • Programming and computer skills with an emphasis on applications.
  • Certifications such as CCENT, CCNA or CCNP.
  • Intermediate training in the following areas: data networking and communications, wireless technologies, digital communications, operating systems and applications, telecommunications, and/or power distribution.
  • Experience with Nortel IOS Switch and CDMA RAN, Fujitsu DACS and DWDM, Cisco 1K and 9K, Nokia AirScale via NSP, BTS Site Manager, and WPS.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
