What you’ll be doing...
You’ll be responsible for designing and implementing new pricing and product offers using the existing system architecture. You’ll manage, design, develop, implement and validate the new pricing offers. Additionally, you’ll compose product specific subject matter documentation oriented toward business intent, and how the reference data design process fits into the wider scheme of the business, or process and define the ongoing maintenance strategy.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of billing system functionality and table interrelationships and use that understanding to write SQL commands to query a large volume of data from diverse sources with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency to evaluate the consequence of action or inaction on the tables.
- Expert on what data is available, and how to interpret it.
- Work cross functionally to implement analytic tools and automated solutions.
- Lead Reference Data on new pricing and device offers using the existing system structure from concept to launch, including investigating new ways to utilize existing architecture to support new concepts.
- Ensure the efficacy of reference data table structure, and reference data table content, to achieve the desired result, in all matters affecting the subject area.
- Manage more than one complex project at a time and be able to communicate only relevant information in an effective manner.
- Exert significant influence in determining design methodology.
- Leverage your critical thinking skills and business acumen to effectively plan and execute your work.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Three or more years of relevant work experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Even better if you have:
- A degree.
- Knowledge of Excel and Word, SQL, Access and the Verizon data warehouse.
- Three or more years of experience writing intermediate SQL commands to query Teradata or Oracle databases.
- Three or more years of business analysis experience.
- Two or more years of experience supporting pricing end-user database tables and CPI.
- Two or more years of experience using web based reporting tools to create data visualizations.
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
- Knowledge of wireless billing and rating systems, particularly the VISION billing system.
- Knowledge of the agile methodology.
- Ability to negotiate with IT and other business teams to satisfy reference data needs.
- Investigative mindset with an attention to detail, tenacity of thought, flexibility to adapt to new challenges and the resiliency to overcome short-term hurdles by staying focused on the deliverables.
- Experience working with large databases including understanding the data and how the data works, and a joy in establishing coherent, quality table content to address business problems and needs.
- Experience with ACSS, Data Warehouse, TSO/DB2 and Loader Shell.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as necessary.
