What you’ll be doing...

The SouthlakeNetworkManagement Center is seeking a motivated and driven Engineer IV to support management of Verizon’sChange Control System encompassing PGW Failover Scheduling, Vendor Change Management, NEN Management and Wireless Change Management System (Kirke).

  • Willingness to work all shifts,enhance automation through scripting and assist with increasing efficiencies.
  • Drive correlation requirements for fault management, network topology and inventory systems.
  • Embrace agile methodologies and show an aptitude for being able to adapt and lead the effort to transform the way we operate.
  • Manage vendor relations and support effectively to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Work with teams to leverage artificial intelligence to explore advanced methods of network monitoring, triage, and resolution.
  • Proactivelyinteract with surveillance teams and external partners to gather feedback on process improvements.
  • Work with external and internal Verizon organizations coordinating and troubleshootingnetworkevents.
  • Continue to transform the network into automation using python scripting and network management/orchestration tools.
  • Leverage python scripting, network management and orchestration tools to automate the transformation of the network.
  • Make consumption of data easier by automating the tasks that connect network tooling, scripting, and databases through the use of standardized formatting, API automation, and automated security.
  • Lead and contribute to complex projects across multiple work groups to improve network automation, verification, and reliability.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge with TCP/IP.
  • Experience with Confluence and Jira
  • Python (or equivalent) scripting
  • Ability to correlate fault management, network events, topology, and inventory systems
  • Strong understanding of continuous integration and SDLC/DevOps concepts
  • Revision control and lifecycle management (CICD)
  • Experience driving automation initiatives and process improvements.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with four or more years of work experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving abilities, and decision-making skills concurrent with effective verbal and written communication skills including capability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to lead people and manage technical discussions with a group of individuals in the industry with varying technical positions along with the ability to work well both independently and in diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of IP telecommunication equipment and technologies (Cisco, Juniper, Adtran, Calix) and processes and systems as well as department of company policies and procedures.
