What you’ll be doing...

This role is accountable for leading broad scope programs, projects and events with varying levels of complexity. This position will work in partnership across the Verizon Marketing organization and business units to develop and drive a broad range of leadership priorities. Core responsibilities include oversight and end to end execution of marketing events in support of the entire CMO team including the management of strategic marketing programs. In this capacity, you will develop strategies to effectively manage executive level programs and projects simultaneously. This will require capabilities of strategic foresight, agility, change management, outstanding organization operations and project management skills. You must demonstrate strong business acumen. You will manage multiple initiatives and be the point person to effectively manage team project deliverables and timelines. You will have accountability to ensure that outputs meet/exceed executive level quality. In this capacity, you will be expected to present to various levels of the organization including senior executives. Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for critical deliverables within the operations & program management portfolio.
  • Perform end to end work stream management of core strategic marketing programs including Cabinet meetings, quarterly Marketing webcasts, large scale leadership meetings and kickoff events, town hall / open forums, agency programs and events, ad-hoc event planning and execution
  • Plan/execute strategic initiatives & programs; ensure deliverables are met on time, within budget.
  • Maintain current knowledge of strategic priorities, business results, industry issues, and the changing competitive landscape and best practices.
  • Understand requirements and translate them into project deliverables and milestones.
  • Interface with key stakeholders to inform of plans, work in progress, and objective progress/results.
  • Proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and make recommendations for improvements to processes.
  • Deliver clearly articulated ideas, concepts and stories to leadership.
  • Perform with urgency and commitment to high quality results.
  • Create presentations and communications for Senior Leadership on key initiatives.
  • Partner and lead team members ensuring broad visibility of programs/projects.
  • Own the entire project management process including managing relevant project documentation: project plan, Change Management process, Risk Mitigation plan, budget, status reporting, schedules, run of show, and meeting logistics
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree – more impressive if you have an MBA.
  • Ten or more years of experience planning/executing events and relevant work experience in Marketing and/or Operations
  • High degree of structured problem solving skills, prioritization, and ability to get things done.
  • Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale projects, with a high competency in managing deliverables.
  • Flexibility with changing programs and processes.
  • Experience working within an ever-evolving/demanding environment with changing tasks/priorities.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions that address relevant and changing business needs.
  • Experience managing confidential data.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, project management, presentation, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to plan and provide structure and organization in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills within all levels in the organization including senior leadership; proven track record of forming and maintaining positive business relationships.
  • High degree of organization with excellent project management skills; experience working cross-functionally and cross-regionally.
  • Understanding of project financial and budget principles.
