What you’ll be doing...

Lead Java Developer joins the Verizon Sales and Services IT Team. You will work on new technologies and find ways to meet our customer’s needs and make it easy for them to do business with us. You will regularly lead multiple small to medium-size projects or one large project and perform project management activities such as planning, sizing, configuring and scheduling. You will develop resolutions to complex problems creatively and make decisions that impact projects & staff members.

  • Responsible for critical decisions on what technology, solution approach we take for the Verizon Wireless Systems of Engagement (Sales & Service) enhancements and re-architecting initiatives across key POS assets (OMNI Retail, OMNI Telesales, OMNI Indirect, OMNI CARE, VIP and POS BE).
  • Resource will partner with business on regular basis to drive these decisions in context of business requirements.
  • Provide E2E architecture for complex re-architecting projects in the POS domain.
  • Analyze the existing systems architecture and designing a new architecture that is cloud friendly, based upon micro-services and utilize open source stack where applicable.
  • Responsible for a holistic design that incorporates various factors like scaling, resiliency, CI/CD, monitoring, load balancing and other key aspects of micro-services architecture.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in programming with Java/J2EE, JSPs, Struts, Spring and Hibernate.
  • Knowledge of client side presentation layer technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and DHTML.

Even better if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or any other related discipline.
  • Experience with SOA Architecture.
  • Knowledge of following areas: Cloud technologies & micro-services on the Java based stack.
  • Data Analytics and related Analytics products with strong implementation experience.
  • Experience with any POS system in the wireless industry with strong understanding of PCI/CPNI/Data Security rules.
  • Experience in converting a monolithic application into micro-services based model.
  • Experience in setting up a CI/CD tool chain.
  • Experience in architecting highly available and scalable Enterprise scale systems.
  • Experience in application monitoring and system performance troubleshooting.
  • Experience with AWS and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
  • Teamwork & collaboration skills to work across organizations and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Communication & stakeholder management skills.
  • Problem solving skills to develop quick yet sound solutions to resolve complex issues.
  • Enterprise architecture experience in the areas of Omni Channel ordering, Customer experience etc on JEE technology.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and technology.
  • Ability to assess upcoming Technology.
