What you’ll be doing...
You will manage the capital enhancements to the INKY Network build program for the sub-market network assurance teams to preserve mission-critical facilities. You'll ensure the consistency in building construction and implementation activities for cell sites and new technology including 5G support. You will also help identify needs for growth to support changes in RAN equipment and technology.
- Managing cell site construction including full support of 5G initial design and installation.
- Working with the Small Cell and Implementation teams to develop action plans and future budgets to support the Build Plan.
- Executing the current year’s projects with a sense of urgency and a focus on the accuracy of implementation.
- Managing assigned capital budget to ensure all purchasing, finance, receipts and SOX audit requirements are followed.
- Executing all projects within the team guidelines and network standards that are published by the HQ EOS Compliance team.
- Providing scope of work to design and construction vendors to provide cost-effective solutions.
- Providing detailed technical guidance to team peers to guide action, training to create new skills and driving standard processes to all aspects of the organization.
- Interacting with HQ EOS teams to assist in defining field standards and conditions related to updated network standards.
- Working with the local network assurance teams to make sure that all projects are implemented in a way that the network assurance team supports the direction to avoid all disruptions to service within current and future guidelines.
- Position will be located in Louisville, IN.
What we’re looking for...
You’re an expert Construction, Power and Grounding engineer—organized, detail oriented, and efficient. You’ve got excellent soft skills and can work effectively with a variety of engineering, network assurance, and CPG stakeholders. You’re driven to resolve system problems and overcome capital project hurdles, and you approach every situation with a team-player attitude.
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Three or more years of relevant work experience.
- Three or more years of experience in one or more of the following trades:
- Mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering construction principles.
- Telecommunications facilities design and construction plans.
- Emergency generators.
- National Electrical Code requirements and other regulatory guidelines.
- AC/UPS/DC power distribution systems and troubleshooting of power equipment.
- Relevant 5G construction experience strongly preferred
- Understanding of Cell Site construction, CRAN Hub design and how it relates to 5G.
- Building support systems (HVAC, Fire, Security).
Even better if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Science, or related technical degree, or two or more years of work experience.
- Strong vendor management and project management skills with experience managing complex cross-functional technical projects such as planning, sizing, configuration, resources and scheduling.
- Develops resolutions to complex problems that require the use of creativity and makes decisions that impact projects and staff members.
- Self-starter traits with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment managing multiple projects with a record of delivering results within prescribed timelines.
- Significant operations or engineering experience with:
- 4G equipment knowledge and future 5G equipment orientation
- DC Power: GE Lineage, Delta, Vertiv
- Antenna layouts and plumbing diagrams
- Working knowledge of the CRAN environment, legacy CDMA and 4G LTE, and associated equipment impacts.
- Understanding of Verizon EOS network standards.
