What you’ll be doing...

The Manager will drive architecture, design, development and testing of strategic supply chain initiatives to enable digital transformation, operational efficiency, new revenue growth and innovation in Verizon’s Supply Chain; supporting Consumer, Business and Network operations.

The individual in this role will provide thought leadership in developing and streamlining strategic vendor engagement. You will work closely with the Managed Services Vendor to drive quality, efficiency and best practices in software development and maintenance. This role will work with security and audit teams to implement compliance, security best practices and governance. This role will manage project spends, capital/expense balance for specific global supply chain initiatives.

Responsibilities include

  • Drive architecture, design, development and testing of strategic supply chain initiatives to enable digital transformation, operational efficiency, new revenue growth and innovation in Verizon’s Supply Chain; supporting Consumer, Business and Network operations.
  • Provide thought leadership in developing and streamlining strategic vendor engagement. Work closely with the Managed Services Vendor to drive quality, efficiency and best practices in software development and maintenance. Have daily / weekly reviews with the Managed Services Vendor to ensure functional and domain information, work priority, delivery timelines etc. are well understood.
  • Work closely with business partners to provide thought leadership in defining future strategy. Align priorities with business to deliver platforms and products for transformative changes.
  • Work with security and audit teams to implement compliance, security best practices and governance. Address any vulnerabilities in source code, web scans, IP scans.
    Manage project spends, capital/expense balance for specific global supply chain initiatives. Engage with vendors for statement of work and time & material resources if and when additional and temporary resources are required to handle spike in delivery.
  • Build a high performing team. Manage aspirations of team members. Groom talents to align with next generation technologies and Verizon 2.0. Manage performance of employees by setting objectives, evaluating performance and providing micro feedbacks in regular interval.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge in Supply Chain, Point of Sales, and Telecommunication.

Even better if you have:

  • In-depth work experience in Web/Mobile Application development, Cloud/Container architecture and Open Source products.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies such as EC2, RDS, Cloud Formation, S3, ELB, Autoscale, Cloudwatch, Lambda etc.
  • Hands-on work experience in Agile Delivery Model, DevOps Automation, CI/CD, and Agile and DevOps tools such as Jira, Jenkins, Artifactory, Confluence, Junit, Fortify, SonarQube.
  • Hands on work experience in Unix/Linux, Java/J2EE/JSP, Apache/Tomcat, Microservices, RDBMS/Oracle, REST web services, Ajax/jQuery, and Angular / React. Strong knowledge of design thinking and system architecture.
  • Good understanding of Security best practices, OWASP vulnerabilities, Fortify/Web Scans, 3rd party open source libraries etc.
  • Knowledge of privacy policy like CPNI, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and tracking against the capital plans.
