What you’ll be doing...

This job requires an experienced MTS IV to assist with Network Extender (Femtocell) project and is a part of a team responsible for delivering best-in-class solutions and services to Verizon Wireless customers. Network Extender is important part of the company’s strategy. The most important elements are to make it easy for customers to transition to the Network Extenders and adding Network Extenders where it would be challenging to get adequate macro cell coverage.

Primary responsibilities of the MTS IV on the team include:

  • Partnering with other Network members to specify the objectives to meet the business goals and strategies in the Network Extender space.
  • Assisting with: lab activities, defining program/project deliverables, schedules, and status reporting; implementing appropriate technology, test automation, and vendor strategies; and specifying requirements, lab configuration and processes, and performing end-to-end testing.
  • Integrating service in a Tier-1 Carrier network environment such that the proposed new features/capabilities work seamlessly with existing radio and core network infrastructure.

The MTS IV is responsible for assisting with Network Extender evolution, architecture, design and testing as well as the network integration aspects of the solution or service in the lab. This position requires diligent teamwork and vendor negotiation skills, experience defining product requirements, architecture, lab environments, and testing consumer-ready mobile services. To be successful, the MTS IV will ideally have solid experience in the Wireless and Data Communications field and extensive knowledge of the industry’s ecosystem.

The MTS IV will have in-depth knowledge of service definitions, including user experience, through the use of formal processes such as use-cases, requirements, system architectures, protocol specifications, testing, product lifecycle, and gate/quality management techniques.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of experience as a technical engineer in the Wireless and Data Communications Industry

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience developing and launching successful services/products.
  • Network extender equipment design, architecture, implementation, networking and service integration perspective.
  • Experience with flexible product development life-cycles, roadmaps, and gate processes.
  • Experience managing vendors, and out-sourced contract engineering projects with focus on managing scope of work, acceptance testing, service level agreements, and schedules.
  • Experience defining, developing, testing, and bringing to market consumer mobile services.
  • Strong leadership skillsand initiative to get multiple tasks completed independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, and the ability to present and interact with cross-functional organizations.
  • Strongtechnical background, with an understanding of mobile communications and mobile platforms.
  • Knowledge of 3GPP and/or 802.11 family of Standards.
  • Security protocols and authentication (EAP-AKA, IPSEC).
  • Experience in IP networking technologies and protocols.
  • Ability to learn fast, work efficiently, pay attention to the details and quality objectives.
  • CCNA certification.
