What you’ll be doing...

You will be an integral member of a dynamic team continuously expanding and improving our Middleware product base, Enterprise CI/CD platform, “automating all the things”, in support of our rapidly expanding portfolio. As part of the Middleware engineering team we hold ourselves accountable to keep our products and systems up and running to ensure our application partners have the best experience. Our Engineer’s intellectual curiosity, problem solving, and openness is key to its success.

  • Owns and support Message Oriented Middleware (MOM) products (RabbitMQ, Kafka/Zookeeper, Pulsare, MQseries, etc.)
  • Owns end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services and building automation to prevent problem recurrence; automating response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
  • Manages the migration of MOM products through Jenkins, Artifactory, and Sonarqube from on premise to AWS.
  • Builds automated pipelines using cloud formation and Ansible to spin up and configure new and existing infrastructure.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve current product base, tools, and enhances current or new tool chain to POC.
  • Looks for ways to reduce manual processes by replacing it with automation.
  • Drives adoption and defines best practices for DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and Middleware.
  • Maintains application and product standards for Middleware products.
  • Works closely with Application teams to identify their requirements and resolve any issues.
  • Redefines governance models around the automation tools that allow for their use throughout the enterprise.
  • Builds automation to deliver metrics reports.
  • Documents common processes to enhance the user experience and administration of the tool.
  • Manages the ticket queue by providing efficient assistance to the end user.
  • Provides 24x7 production support to all tools within the automation platform.
  • Communicates continuously with management and peers about the status and progress of ongoing projects.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Technology, and/or other related field of study.
  • Five or more years of experience as a Dev Ops engineer.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environment (bash scripting) and open source technologies.
  • Shell scripting skills
  • Knowledge of MOM products MQseries, Kafka/Zookeeper, RabbitMQ, etc.
  • Four or more years of experience in CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQuebe).
  • Experience developing and optimizing server architectures.
  • Experience with Java/ J2EE, Oracle Coherence, WebLogic, Oracle, iPlanet, Rational Rose, XML, Solaris and PL/SQL.
  • Experience in Oracle commerce platform ATG/Endeca.
  • Experience in systems design and project management.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple products across the organization.
  • Experience multitasking multiple high priority objectives.
