What you’ll be doing...

This position is responsible for the proper operation of a large group of 40 plus Cell
Site Network Elements in Miami Dade/Monroe County including Key West. The
engineer must live between Key Largo and Key West. The job requires preventative
and corrective maintenance, installation, optimization, building and ground upkeep,
and integration of network hardware and interconnect facilities. Maintaining and
repairing all base station equipment and transmitters.

Maintaining site and test equipment inventories; testing and analyzing network
coverage to ensure contiguous communication and network integrity and quality;
updating daily logs with site-specific information and correlating databases.

Composing clear and concise reports for system documentation; and performing
audits as required by local, regional, Area, Corporate or Regulatory agencies.
The Cell Technician is expected to be able to perform his duties with little
supervision, and participate in cross-functional projects as scheduled.

  • Performs preventative and remedial maintenance on all base station and transmitter equipment.
  • Performs installation and optimization of same.
  • Performs routine building and grounds maintenance and inspections.
  • Integrates Network hardware and interconnect facilities.
  • Analyzes network coverage to ensure contiguous communication and network integrity.
  • Makes recommendations to engineering for improving network coverage and implementation.
  • Maintains inventories of test equipment, base station, and transmitters.
  • Updates daily logs with site-specific information.
  • Composes clear and concise reports for system documentation.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience.
  • Three or more years of related experience.
  • EBH MW Radio experience required.
  • Ericsson eNB experience required.
  • Ethernet Backhaul/Fiber experience required.
  • Required to climb on a ladder to about 8ft for pole equipment maintenance.
  • Requires valid driver’s license.
  • Will be on call at times and work nights and weekends when necessary (resolving issues).

Even better if you have:

  • C-RAN and DAS experience will be a plus.
  • ALU Base Station experience preferred.
  • Good technical understanding of computer networking protocols and services (LAN, WAN, routers, switches, TCP/IP, FTP).
  • Various VZ software such as RTT, SAM, IOP, Netsmart, and Workbench 360.
  • Be able to qualify for CMV - tow 10,000 to 26,000 lbs.
  • Capable of towing Large trailer (COW, Emergency Generator).
  • Able to lift 60 lbs.
  • Self-motivated and excellent problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and concisely communicate orally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills.
