What you’ll be doing...

The Network System Assurance Engineer is responsible for the advanced installation, operation, and maintenance of the regional data network elements, ensuring network integrity and quality. These networks include but are not limited to Ericsson LTE elements, routers, multilayer switches, MSPP, Ethernet and Ethernet backhaul. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting; upgrading; administering these platforms and multiple vendor systems; maintaining system, element and platform applications; and providing support to a varied user community; updating daily logs with site-specific information; and composing clear, concise reports for system documentation. The Technician – Systems is expected to perform his/her duties with minimum supervision, and participate in cross-functional projects as scheduled.

  • Troubleshoots, upgrades, and administers multiple vendor systems. Technically lead during troubleshooting events.
  • Installs, operates, administers, and performs advanced maintenance of the regional data network elements.
  • Maintains systems, elements, and platform applications.
  • Updates daily logs with site-specific information.
  • Composes clear and concise reports for system documentation.
  • Participates in cross-functional projects as scheduled.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant workexperience.
  • Knowledge of data networking protocols including TCP/IP, OSI, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, BFD, SIP and other LAN/WAN protocols.
  • Knowledge of data transmission facilities such as 1G and 10G native Ethernet, and SONET.

Even better if you have:

  • A technical degree and/or certifications such as CCENT, CCNA or CCNP.
  • Intermediate training in at least 3 of the following areas: data networking and communications, wireless technologies, digital communications, operating systems and applications, telecommunications, and/or power distribution.
  • Additional experience in Alcatel-Lucent CDMA 5ESS and EvDO RNC, Tellabs DACS and PAEC, and Anypath or Comverse voice mail platforms is considered a plus.
  • Programming and computer skills with emphasis on applications.
