What you’ll be doing...
Verizon is investing in its network to improve the way we live, work, and communicate. Our network transformation will be critical for all our future connectivity businesses including new products such as IoT, 5G, and future smart cities. As part of the Edge implementation team, you will help build one network engineered for growth for all lines of business.
You will be responsible for leading a team of Engineers across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio, Kansas, Arkansas, and Missouri in engineering and implementation of infrastructure across our MSCs (Mobile switching centers). You’ll develop an understanding of business drivers, technological direction and market conditions necessary for developing and implementing cost-effective and highly reliable 4G & 5G networks.
- Interface with internal and external organizations at various levels to understand business drivers, engineering standards, and market-level deployment plans.
- Manages the implementation of all technologies necessary to expand and evolve the network to meet customer demand for new and improved service offerings. This includes timely support of both capital and expense projects while delivering upon financial targets/goals.
- Provide oversight and direction for the design, initiation, and implementation of network deployment plans to meet budgetary and timeline constraints.
- Anticipate technical and tactical challenges and develop contingency plans necessary for controlling costs and maintaining market deployment schedules.
- Communicate status and issues at various levels of the organization in a clear and concise way.
- Create training and communications that help build an environment for success and regularly meet with the teams and review projects and action item deliverables.

You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience leading teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Even better if you have:
- A degree in Engineering or Business Management.
- Six or more years of experience leading teams.
- Experience in network implementation, plant engineering and project management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on-time results.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to manage cross-functional and remote teams.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to positively influence best practices through employee communications partnership.
