What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is looking for a IT program manager that is responsible for coordinating, organizing and help remove impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement to create value in the value streams for Verizon. This role will get exposure and eventually be part of a SAFE agile team framework.

  • Serve as liaison between the business and IT.
  • Partner with development teams to prioritize and implement programs.
  • Help drive development end to end.
  • Program enablement.
  • Responsible for decomposition into Epics/features/user stories, and prioritizing Delivery Team Backlog.
  • Facilitate product level processes and execution, manages risk, and responsibility for the value delivered.
  • Pair with solution/portfolio architect driving end-to-end solutions.
  • Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected projects.
  • Decide on suitable strategies and objectives.
  • Coordinate cross-project activities.
  • Lead and evaluate project managers and other staff.
  • Develop and control deadlines, budgets and activities.
  • Apply change, risk and resource management.
  • Assume responsibility for the program’s people and vendors.
  • Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI.
  • Resolve projects’ higher scope issues.
  • Prepare reports for program directors.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience developing and maintaining project plans.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus.
  • Three or more years of proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position.
  • Knowledge of project/program management techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage and execute competing tasks and multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management.
  • Experience with Google Sheets, Slides and Google drive, Google calendar and Google Mail.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint Excel, Outlook, Jira.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently but ability to communicate status and achieve results.
  • Ability to be a strong driver and communicate and coordinate with all.
  • Telecom, network technologies is a plus.
  • Experience in playing the Scrum Master for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory is a plus.
  • Knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.) is a plus.
