What you’ll be doing...

In this position, you will specifically be responsible for the Product Development and Management that support Verizon 911 products, services and compliance. You will work in a leadership role with internal technology, sales, product and operations stakeholder groups as well as third party suppliers to address Verizon’s 911 product & service needs today and associated strategic plans to best position Verizon for the future. Utilizing your strong leadership abilities, exemplary communication skills and innovative mindset, you will lead cross-functional activities with partners in Planning, Development, IT, Operations, and Engineering.

You will serve as a 911 Product Development and compliance consultant to Verizon Sales and Product groups as the owner / advocate for Verizon 911 solutions using your industry knowledge to set and execute 911 Product Development strategy. You will be engaged as a SME / resource for sales opportunities, RFPs presale and point of escalation for implementation and operational challenges that may occur post sale.

  • Lead Verizon’s technological evolution of E911 to NG911 / i3, the complete transformation from MSAG to LIS and TDM to SIP.
  • Work with Sourcing to manage third party Vendor Contracts supporting 911 in different capacities, ILEC as a 911 Service Provider, OSP compliance using 911 vendor for fixed vs Nomadic services.
  • Provide leadership, 911 network infrastructure and location database expertise for the operational support and service delivery of third party Vendors for 911 including monthly Service Level Agreement calls with 911 Vendor.
  • Support operations as a SME / point of escalation for troubleshooting and development of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for 911 impacting incidents
  • Provide on-call support, including weekends as necessary.
  • Developingthree or moreyears oftechnology strategy view on 911 / NG911 Products & Services
  • Developing excellent working relationships with Network Planning, Product Development / Management, IT, Network Operations, Engineering and Operations.
  • Partnering with internal organizations to author technical requirements and standards forum contributions.
  • Independently managing complex product development projects, introducing innovative, profitable and successful 911 products to the market.
  • Maintaining a deep and broad knowledge and understanding of the Public Safety / 911 industry that may be leveraged to support the current market / customer needs and set corporate strategy / positioning for the future.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel upto approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Engineering, Information Technology or any other related discipline.
  • Five or more years of multidisciplinary leadership experience and business acumen in the telecommunication industry.
  • Knowledge of 911 evolution from E9-1-1 to NG911 i3.
  • Knowledge of 911 call flows in relation to ALI database / Selective Router.
  • Knowledge with network equipment/ configurations and systems, as well as general IT network concepts.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in diverse teams either as a SME contributor or team leader.
  • Organizational skills, experience managing complex processes and the ability to handle multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Experience leading remote teams in a matrixed environment to develop solutions and reach objectives.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including an ability to communicate complex information effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions with a diverse group of individuals with varying technical positions.
  • VoIP networking technologies and trends experience.
  • Knowledge of Smart Cities, IOT, their underlying technology infrastructure and how those impact Public Safety and 911 markets today and in the future.
  • Established track record of supervising complex processes and driving results.
  • IT operations/ Agile experience.
  • Negotiation skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Wireline, Wireless Telecommunications, Network and IT industry experience (preferred from large internet, telecom, and cloud companies).
  • Experience with assessing and leading current Verizon technologies, suppliers, challenges and new emerging architectures and network concepts needed to drive transformation in a Tier 1 carrier network.
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape and demonstrate a firmknowledge of the upcoming technology marketplace.
  • Experience creating visibly pleasing, crisp, and creative presentations.
