What you’ll be doing...

This position will be responsible for Order Entry, Design, along with Network and Telco coordination efforts supporting implementation of the Intelligent Edge Network (“IEN”). Efforts will include, but are not limited to:

  • Design migrations from legacy networks to the IEN.
  • Design/provisioning efforts will be done at all levels of bandwidth: (DS0/DS1/DS3/OCN).
  • Utilize Verizon Business systems to track, coordinate, and complete all groom and any related disconnect efforts.
  • Send, coordinate, and complete appropriate ASR related activities to Local Exchange Carrier and Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (LEC/CLEC).
  • Minimize customer impacts for all grooming activities. Clearly stated monthly objectives must be met.
  • Work with the LECs to get these orders scheduled and providing escalations as needed to meet business needs.
  • Interact with other Verizon organizations to ensure our business needs are met.
  • Work independently and exercise independent judgment and discretion within generally defined practices and policies to select appropriate methods or techniques for obtaining solutions. May act as advisor to team members to meet schedules and resolve problems.

Work is varied within established activities and requires frequent interpretation. Typically resolve complex problems which may require adaptation of standardized practices or precedent. As workload changes, be versatile and flexible transitioning between engineering systems and teams.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience with VZB Layer 1 Order Entry Assign-Design systems: PC, Mecca, FNE, BGW, TCOMS, and EASR.
  • Experience with creation and submission of ASR’s to Telco.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple other internal organizations.
  • Experience with Excel, Power Point, and Word to track and report job status to upper management.
  • Strong people skills. Written, oral communication and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to team well with various Planning groups, implementation teams, project managers, field technicians, and other Verizon services personnel.
