What you’ll be doing...

The Product Manager for Broadband Services Equipment will report into the Senior Manager of Broadband Product Development and manage life cycle management for all Broadband Service equipment and will lead a cross functional team in the development of new CPE or additional of service and feature to that CPE. Responsibilities will include interacting with business unit leaders and functional leaders at the highest levels within the organization to develop, implement and execute on a wide variety of strategic products aimed at achieving the strategic and financial objectives of the business and preparing the business for future.

The Product Manager will be responsible for vetting strategies, assessing market needs, defining market segmentation, validating technical solutions, and creating business models. The Product Manager will interact with a large number of critical internal and external partners including but not limited to: Operations, Marketing, Branding, Finance, Legal, Consultants, Marketing Firms, Corporate Strategy, GTM groups and Network. The candidate will have experience working with, or in, product development, product pricing, and product marketing.

The Product Manager will be a subject matter expert in the competitive landscape, market trends and research (both primary and secondary) and will be responsible for developing and clearly articulating an overarching strategy and describing how individual project roadmaps support a larger vision. Responsibility will include for executive level reporting and presentation materials, including creation and maintenance of an executive dashboard to reflect product/project performance.

The Senior Manager will not only get to frame the initial product scope and strategy but will also lead the execution of the recommendations. In this process, they will lead the execution teams drawn from the business and functional units.

Responsible to map the customer needs journey and identify what product concepts are economically viable and align with Verizon’s larger strategic direction. Responsible for representing the continuum from needs identification, product conceptualization, business modelling, product launch, to product support. Must consult with the business unit to recommend the most efficient product distribution strategy, identifying key channels, training requirements, and support needs. Responsibility also includes the tracking and monitoring of key product metrics and to gain alignment with BU for quick and agile process modifications to optimize sales and billed line in service performance.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Market/customer centric vision knowledge.
  • Experience developing business cases using spreadsheet tools such as Excel.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • MBA preferred.
  • Capability to be a Leading edge innovator of broadband data/internet services and supporting products, devices and equipment.
  • Three or more years of experience in product management, marketing or consulting.
  • Financial skills that enable identification and focus on key business and product metrics that support new product development and lifecycle management.
  • Strong project management, problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to create “Consultant-Grade” presentations that clearly articulate the market, customer needs, Verizon relevance in this space, and define the strategy that will allow Verizon to win.
  • Ability to evaluate customer needs, service trends, market segmentation as a method to create overarching Broadband Strategies and plans.
  • Knowledge of Broadband delivery technologies includes HSI, FiOS, 5G and other Data technologies, devices and equipment.
  • Knowledge of Verizon systems, processes, architectures, and order flows.
  • Ability to interface with people from various departments, levels and knowledge levels.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, innovative and committed to quality outputs.
  • Self-starter highly organized, efficient, and capable of leading extremely large meetings and driving them towards a common goal.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
