What you’ll be doing...

Verizon Business Markets (VBM) is a newly created strategic business unit within Operations, to serve the wireline communications and networking technology needs of U.S.-based small and medium businesses, and state and local government. The Digital organization within IT will be focused on enabling an eco-system that hones in on digitizing the customer experience through technology with a cloud/mobile first tenet, and analytics to enable new products, directional product bundles, and third party solution – all to enable new revenue streams.

  • Serve as Responsible Compliance Officer (RCO) and Security Focal Point (SFP) for portfolio of diverse applications, including internet facing, highly confidential, mission critical, and third party.
  • Collaborate with development resources, stakeholders, and executive leadership to ensure understanding of security and compliance policies, procedures, and projects.
  • Support compliance standards with periodic control monitoring, compliance reviews, auditing systems effectiveness of controls, vulnerability reports, or other indicators of internal control weaknesses.
  • Lead Agile team and conduct standup meetings.
  • Manage user stories, set goals, and facilitate sprint and release planning.
  • Understand complexities of a large program and provide guidance for the development teams.
  • Interact with product managers and other organizational units such as QA, operations, and external IT partners.
  • Support reviewer or approver role, includes functions of submitting control evidence, defining test steps, reviewing management assertions and managing progress toward the overall program timeline.
  • Perform assessment and gap analysis to determine remediation needs for failed security controls.
  • Document design and implementation of security requirements.
  • Engage business users to inform of system changes and assess impact to business processes.
  • Document functional roles, data elements, and mitigation strategies for applications with offshore development resources.
  • Gather evidence for internal and external audits and prepare management response for findings, if needed.
  • Manage and track vulnerability remediation across portfolio for various security scans to ensure mitigation of risks.
  • Facilitate scheduled review of security program metrics and risk mitigation efforts with management, portfolio custodians, and key resources.
  • Communicate status, roadblocks, and timelines to executive leadership and IT Compliance PMO for ongoing security and compliance efforts.
  • Negotiate scope, schedule with external IT and business partners.
  • Establish common goals across multiple teams, and define useful metrics and reporting to track team performance and manage milestones across multiple teams.
  • Lead teams of engineers through the completion of all phases of the project.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Program Management experience with Agile projects

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Highly proficient in collaborating with project stakeholders, end-users, business partners, and technical team members to deliver high quality projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including but not limited to Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Demonstrated effective and proven presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Hands on with project documentation. Well-versed in industry best-practices and current technologies.
  • Prior background in managing large, multi-team engagements.
  • Experience with Global Delivery Model.
  • Hands-on experience working with JIRA, Confluence.
  • Wide variety of IT and business consulting engagement experience.
  • Experience working with cloud based and SaaS apps.
  • Functional product knowledge of Salesforce, Marketo, Adobe Experience manager.
