What you’ll be doing...

Chief responsibility will be the oversight of development, maintenance, and QA of bespoke credit and collections models developed using consumer credit data provided by various Consumer Reporting Agencies. This role will be primarily focused on direct development of risk models, but will also include providing guidance and expertise to the Credit Risk Modeling team, as well as validating existing credit and collections models.

This role requires a deep understanding of statistical methods, machine learning techniques, cloud computing, automations, anomaly detection/alarming, and some development of interactive BI dashboards. Additionally, modelers should be able to demonstrate proficiency with the R Statistical Programming Language, RStudio, RStudio Shiny, Tidyverse, Teradata SQL, Oracle SQL, Hadoop, Hive/Impala/Pig, and utilization of cloud-based services.

Additionally, soft skills, such as the ability to guide management, to effectively partner with experts in non-mathematical fields, and to communicate technical information both to technical and non-technical audiences, will be critical to success in this role.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in R Programming.
  • Two or more years of experience working in the development and productionalization of credit and/or collections models.

Even better if you have:

  • B.S. Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Physics, Industrial Engineering or other heavily quantitative field or related field.
  • Experience with SQL (Teradata or Oracle).
  • Experience with Hadoop and Hive.
  • Experience with version control (e.g., GitHub).
  • Two or more years of experience working in the development and productionalization of credit and/or collections models using consumer trade line data provided by a CRA.
  • Experience with cloud analytics tools such as Spark or H2O.
  • Experience with at least one of the following
    • RStudio Shiny.
    • JavaScript + D3.js
    • Tableau, Qlik, Cognos, or equivalent BI tools.
  • CPA/CFA/FRM or related certification.
  • Four or moreyears of experience working with Credit data –experience with Installment Credit (Mortgage, Auto, Personal Finance, etc.)
  • one or moreyears of management experience.
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.
