What you’ll be doing...

Join our Network Systems Unified Collection Services team where you will work on new technologies and find ways to meet our customers’ needs and make it easy for them to do business with us. You will work fairly independently on more complex operational & technical projects, issues, systems and applications. You will use your experience, expertise and skills to solve problems that are more difficult & infrequent.

Working within a cutting edge environment where Network Management standards and Unified Collection Services are evolved to service at scale a magnitude of real-time collection systems including the VCG (Verizon Corporate Grid) and other Service Assurance tools/ systems.

  • Leading multiple projects using on-site and off-shore resources to maintain and develop applications for both enterprise releases and smaller maintenance releases.
  • Working closely with the business team, 3rd party vendors, and other internal IT teams to deliver projects on time.
  • Exposure to Network domain convergence and PNF to VNF conversion.
  • Performing hands-on coding work on projects to introduce new modular, reusable Service/API or enhancing the existing ones.
  • Performing engineering tasks associated with the analysis, design, and development of computer hardware, firmware, embedded systems, and/or operating systems.
  • Developing software/ API’s for building L0/L1/L2 Network topology with a fault and performance overlay.
  • Leveraging Network Management System experience (ACL’s Keys, Dial In, IPv4/Ipv6).
  • Designing and Implementing business process for provisioning Network products such as 5G, iEN, One Fiber, Wave, Eline, MEC metric collection, EPC/ EBH Performance.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Micro Service technologies (development/ design) including Spring, Spring Boot, REST Services and Web technologies.
  • Knowledge of Python, Lambda, GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, Elastic Container Service.
  • General Database Experience (DynamoDB and PostgreSQL).
  • Knowledge of CICD, Code Deployment Pipelines, Fortify, Quality Scan.
  • Experience with Java/J2EE development.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Jira, Artifactory, Docker, Encryption protocols, AWS Kinesis, Auto Scaling, ion skills.
  • Cloud Formation, Java, Messaging Experience, Network Protocol Familiarity, ideally applied expertise with gRPC, IPFIX, and MQTT.
  • AWS certification/ applied experience.
  • Working experience with OOP, SOA, design pattern, multi-threading.
  • Experience with multiple database engines like Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra.
  • Experience with DevOps automation and toolchain including Jenkins, Jira, GIT, Maven.
  • Experience with Graph data base for Network modelling like Neo4J.
  • Experience with Java messaging, JMS, Kafka, RabbitMQ or Pulsar.
  • Experience with performance testing and general Network Performance troubleshooting/ monitoring Knowledge of Network provisioning for Layer 0/1/2.
  • Capability to be a self-starter and self-motivated.
