What you’ll be doing...

Join the Value Based Marketing (VBM) organization focused on business intelligence, strategic targeting, and opportunity conversion optimization for Verizon (VZ). You’ll provide data management of customer relationship management (CRM) initiatives and broad-based campaign/offer analytics. Work with the team to enable information that will guide customer personalization strategies and decision making across all lines of business. Insuring the right opportunities are prioritized and presented to the right customer at the right time optimized for revenue growth and preservation.

By leveraging your technical and analytical skills along with business experience, you will conduct constant and continuous evaluation of different data sources and vendors. You will be pressed to innovate the ways in which we can utilize data to drive business results. You must be driven and grounded in data processing and decision making for which you can innovate and improve existing practice and process. You will act as the liaison and work with every line of businesses to know their intelligence needs and help them understand available data products. Most importantly, this role is to forge the best in class business intelligence environment for Verizon.

In this strategic role you will be catalyst for driving continuous improvement in the following ways:

  • Responsible for product and project management, process design, data quality management and business acceptance testing to implement new solutions successfully.
  • Overseeing and leading the internal and external teams to ensure there is no breakage in the ongoing data flow. Scrutinizing major stats of the business Intel to safeguard its quality and integrity.
  • Developing strategic roadmaps to transform operations by digitizing data and automating processes including self-service data & visualization platforms, process automation tools and other technologies.
  • Build, automate, and maintain complex SQL queries which compile performance data necessary for analysis of strategy effectiveness. Design various metrics to measure intended benefits, unintentional benefits or losses, and overall value to the business.
  • Engaging cross functional teams of business stakeholders in understanding their prioritization and implementation needs.
  • Running program managing strategic initiatives, coordinating activities, tracking and reporting success metrics.
  • Balancing analytics with sufficient business acumen to translate complex business processes into IT requirements for automation.
  • Work as part of analytics team to ensure that the business and technical architecture of the delivered solutions matches business requirements to support continued experimentation and evolve analytics.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Finance, Marketing, or Management or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience creating and tuning Advanced SQL. Teradata SQL.
  • One or more years of experience in Tableau development or similar visualization tools.
  • One or more years of experience in Teradata TRM/CIM or similar campaign design tool.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Knowledge of systems, master data and data architecture to pull data from numerous tables from multiple sources to be merged and analyzed.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree. Ideally, a M.S. or MBA.
  • Five or more years of experience in the wireless industry.
  • Ability to manage and work with both technical and non-technical team/staff members.
  • Ability to lead and deliver change and contribute to culture change successfully.
  • Work with stakeholders to find reasonable and pragmatic solutions to issues.
  • Ability to work independently and own end to end responsibilities for project execution.
  • Curious, analytical mind with the ability to identify and assess key business risks and controls.
  • Ability to influence business colleagues and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Passionate about action to deliver any needed risk and control improvements.
  • Ability in solving problems never before faced with no prior examples to reference for guidance.
