What you’ll be doing...

Our program provides dedicated engineering and architectural services for a large retailer network, including MPLS, Unified Communications, VoIP Trunking, and IP Toll Free services. You will be responsible for architectural designs and strategic initiatives to help our customer address requirements for the Omni-Channel store of the future, while addressing End Of Life network hardware/software challenges across all services in the network. This position will sit in theclient offices in Johns Creek, GA.

  • Act as an extension of the customer by understanding the customer’s business directions and needs. Develop and prepare technical and operational responses to customer service requests.
  • Support network change activity including upgrades, working across internal and external organizations for all project aspects, including design, pricing, planning, coordination, installation, and testing. Act as a focal point for technical issues, drive to resolution and identify process problems, escalate as appropriate and communicate to all appropriate internal and external organizations.
  • Meet regularly with senior customer executives to build and maintain the annual Network Strategy document. Lead the technical discussions during the strategy sessions and present annual recommendations from the document to client'sexecutives. Ensure customer satisfaction by balancing customer expectations with contractual requirements.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert for WAN and hybrid Cloud strategies, working closely with engineers and planners to recommend service improvements and give guidance to network planning, network evolution and growth plans.
  • Providing pre-sales engineering support for the development of technical proposals, working with cross-functional teams to gather customer requirements, developing architecture solutions and compliance matrices that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs in accordance with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Competent to work at a high technical level on all phases of network operations.
  • Must be able to evaluate network performance and interact with users to solve complex problems.
  • Managing the documentation deliverables to align with customers’ system engineering life cycle processes.
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and technical direction on engineering projects to define goals and identify scope of work needed to develop standards-based solution architectures for specific customer requirements for priority voice, data, and video services.
  • Validating and creating architecture and engineering requirements, network impact assessments, engineering design standards, and alarms and network statistics definitions.
  • Working closely with the engineering team in the development, testing, and implementation of advance data core features.
  • Creating and implementing test plans, and maintaining and recommending changes to test cases, test procedures and instructions for successful end to end testing of priority service features in the VoIP network elements.
  • Performing IP tracing in a complex network and multi-protocol analysis.
  • Examining and troubleshooting flows using various packet analyzer tools, as well as independently analyzing performance trends of various high level and engineering level Key Performance Indicators.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent proactive, working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company.
  • Satisfying customer technical, product quality and timely delivery expectations.
  • Final escalation POC engineering on-call.
  • Experience working with routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP and OSPF.
  • Experience with Cisco UCS.
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and manage personal work and small projects.
  • Balance the customer needs with Verizon policy and Credo as their advocate.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with the following:
    • Advanced experience with Cisco Routers and Switches
    • VOIP gateways
    • Session Border Controller technologies
    • Call processes between End to End system testing
    • Configuration, feature testing, troubleshooting
    • Protocol specifications and analysis
  • CCNP Collaboration and/or CCNP Routing and Switching.
  • Experience project managing complex solutions through implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively interact with high level customer staff.
  • Advanced IP Data Networking experience (routing, switching, load balancing, high availability, etc).
  • Software development experience using Python ,Perl, or PHP.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Telecommunication, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related technical discipline.
  • ITIL v3 Foundations certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience in converged technologies including TDM and IP voice, UC messaging, and data networking.
  • Knowledge of network design and voice systems, including: switches and routers, VOIP PBX technologies, Dial plan configuration and network routing, SIP, PRI and WAN protocols.
  • Knowledge of voice and data network copper and fiber cabling infrastructure in a multi-datacenter environment.
  • Eight or more years of experience with VoIP technologies.
  • Knowledge of relational databases (SQL experience a plus).
  • Knowledge of Voice IP Services (SIP, Skype, UCC, Jabber, Spark).
  • Experience integrating with Cloud Service Providers.
  • Experience with Software Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization.
  • Advanced design and experience in at least three of the following: Data and IP Services (MPLS, SIP, internet, VPN, SDN, NFV, SDWAN); Network Operations (LAN, WAN, IP PBX, Automation/Orchestration); Call Center Technologies (ACD, IVR, Call Recording, Chat, Cloud Delivery, toll free, Omni-channel).
  • Knowledge in leading technology network vendor portfolios such as Cisco, ClougGenix, Oracle (SBC), and Riverbed.
  • Architect, design and implement Oracle Session Border Controllers (SBC) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP):
  • Write, test, and implement Header Manipulation Rules (HMRs) based on interoperability requirements.
  • Lead efforts in design, management, and maintenance of a large, complex and highly resilient enterprise infrastructure.
  • Three or more years of experience in implementing and troubleshooting large scale Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) networks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and document large scale VoIP networks.
  • Three or more years of hands-on experience with Oracle SBCs and interoperability.
  • Oracle Communications Session Border Controller Implementation Essentials certification (Exam code: 1Z0-400).
  • Acme Packet Certified Professional Network Engineer (ACP-N) certification.
