What you’ll be doing...

You will be a key member of the team focused on the technology evolution of virtualized network functions across our organization. Interfacing with many internal and external stakeholders, you’ll integrate solutions with all other areas of the organization.

  • Interface with functions within the business including internal and external system architects, product line managers, network operations leads, DevOps leads, and a variety of both business and technical organizations spanning our enterprise.
  • Transform longstanding procedures and operations within the organization.
  • Develop one to three year location technology plan (X,Y and Z-Axis) for E911 and cLBS location (current PNF to VNF).
  • Lead matrix team of people to implement the location technology plan.
  • Constantly research / investigate and analyze new location technologies (X, Y and Z-Axis) to see if they are a good business fit for E911 and cLBS.
  • Manage location technology vendors for E911 and cLBS. Determine 18 month roadmap of technology with vendor every year. Then implement the roadmap.
  • RFX: Negotiate pricing (utilize VISL), lead contract efforts, manage budget (CAPEX & OPEX) including issuance of PO’s.
  • Regulatory: Support and control of Global Clearance issues, CPI-810 assessment and compliance or road mapping.
  • Work closely with Verizon Regulatory Compliance and Federal Regulatory to ensure that all FCC requirements for 911 location accuracy are met by Verizon.
  • Represent Verizon at CTIA, ATIS, CSRIC and other industry association meetings to address common industry technical issues with E911, Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) and Early Earthquake Warning System (EEWS), as required. In particular, work with CTIA regarding NEAD (National Emergency Address Database) issues.
  • Work closely with internal location technology client groups to make sure their needs are met.
  • Regulatory Compliance – E911.
  • Product Development – cLBS.
  • Plan for and implement location technology for E911 and cLBS for VoWiFi and 5G networks.
  • Work with Apple and Google as required to implement device-based location technology for E-911 and cLBS.
  • Work closely with Verizon Federal Regulatory and Regulatory Compliance to provide regulatory support for all FCC requirements for Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) and Early Earthquake Warning System (EEWS).

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Executive presentations.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Business or any other related field.
  • Experience with Location Technology.
  • Experience with Federal Regulatory support including Verizon Legal, Verizon Federal Regulatory, CTIA and the FCC.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry with ten or more years of Wireless Telecom experience.
  • LTE, IMS, and MPN experience.
  • Virtual and Physical Network Functions experience.
  • Basic knowledge of wireless handset technology.
  • Ability to be results oriented with strong experience in leading matrix team of people.
  • Ability to work in independently.
