Roaming Operations Team

The Roaming Operations team is a finance organization tasked with ensuring the continued profitability of roaming for both Verizon customers roaming on other networks and other operators customers roaming on the Verizon network. We work closely with Marketing, Care, Network, vendors and other operators to maintain the highest possible customer satisfaction as well as building and the maintaining the necessary controls.

The Program Manager of Roaming is responsible for managing projects to enhance the Roaming experience of Verizon's customers both internationally and domestically. You will play a key role in identifying and resolving issues related to Roaming. In addition the Program Manager will develop and maintain effective relationships with Cross Functional leadership and orchestrate a formal feedback process between Roaming Operations and other Functional Leaders.

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Direct highly complex cross functional projects that impact Wireless Roaming Operations.
  • Provide Strategic guidance for requirements written for IT and Network to ensure robust, complete, and functionally comprehensive requirements are gathered.
  • Provide recommendations to product owners regarding financial and operational issues.
  • Assist with Use Cases and the development of multiple Business Models. Help ensure the right internal and external resources are appropriately engaged in a timely way in all program management efforts.
  • Assess and manage risks and issues.
  • Provide information to management about project/program health / metrics / status.
  • Communicate project status to Verizon leadership.
  • Escalate project issues that cannot be resolved.
  • Conduct project retrospectives, compile lessons learned, and integrate into processes and templates.

Operations Responsibilities:

  • Lead issues related to Roaming to resolution working with various teams in the Wireless organization.
  • Communicate status of issues to senior management.
  • Assist in testing efforts related to International and Domestic Roaming.
  • Collaborate with functional teams on changes required to enhance customer experience or reduce expenses as it relates to Roaming.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience
  • Project management experience.
  • Willingness to travel upto appoximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • PMP certification.
  • Operational experience with billing systems and wireless networks.
  • Wireless and telecommunications network knowledge for both voice, roaming and data.
  • Experience with Wireless and Roaming GSM.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Testing and Billing Revenue Assurance processes.
  • Ability to understand, process and effectively plan and execute in a nebulas environment.
  • Experience with change management and ability to quickly change.
  • Experience in working within a matrixed organization.
  • Team oriented – proactively notifies others of direct/indirect issues that may impact their processes.
  • Ability to work well with others in a cross functional environment.
  • Ability to drive problems to closure.
  • Ability to anticipate issues based on analysis and experience.
  • Collaboration with other work groups to solve complex issues.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Written, verbal and group communication skills.
