The Finance Organization

Pricing and Promotions FP&A Team

Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. This team is responsible for preparing financial and economic analysis for senior management to determine the viability of device promotions, loyalty programs, customer incentives and other investment initiatives. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, pricing decisions and new initiatives to develop new products and services. You can have an impact on new business growth opportunities through development of business case scenarios. In this role you will gain a thorough understanding of Verizon Wireless financials and operations in order to make the best-informed decisions possible. You will interact with multiple Headquarter departments and the Six Markets within the company.

  • Develop financial models, tools and corresponding assumptions used to evaluate the profitability and shareholder value of customer acquisition and retention initiatives.
  • Supports the financial analysis requirements of Market initiatives and Headquarter departments including Marketing, Network, Strategic Planning, IT and Customer Service.
  • Analyze the financial profitability of new and existing products and services through the development of business cases and Net Present Value models.
  • Perform rate of return and economic analysis for ad hoc business issues.
  • Prepares financial presentation materials and formal business case documents for use with senior management.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field or four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Financial analysis and/or financial modeling experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
  • A CPA.
  • Experience with business case development, strategic planning or marketing.
  • Experience with spreadsheet, presentation and word processing software.
  • Experience in the Wireless Telecommunications industry.
  • Knowledge of key wireless industry metrics and wireless financial and operational drivers.
  • Knowledge of cost of capital and investment decision theory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • SQL or Hyperion experience
  • Self-starter with proven collaboration skills.
  • Problem solving and negotiating skills.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
